Hello,
Hi Rekhabishop! Some suggestions in blue below...
Please review my profile.

Nationality : Indian
Grad School: PTU, 81.21/100
GMAT: 620 (Q48,V28,IR7)
Work-ex: 2.5 years (till now)With a lower GMAT avg, it will help to be over on something else- and 2.5 yrs work is not it... might consider improving GMAT for a year and also gaining one more year of work.

I am working as a consultant(IT) for a Big four.Great to have that well recognized Big Four experience

Work ex:
1) Worked as the lead for Security
2) Great client appreciation.
3) Flexible working hours.
4) Provided SAP based training.

I don’t have any work-ex outside India, though I have regularly worked with teams from different countries.
There are few other important works that I have done like I was given additional responsibility during my first two years to mentor new joinees in our department.

NGO Experience:
I haven't really worked for an NGO, but I have relevant exerience in teaching under-privileged families. I have been mentoring, coaching, and at times raising funds for their education. But I don't have any certificates to prove this. Be sure to really explain the impact if you can.Try to quantify some impact here.

Extra-curriculars:
Have managed fest in college, founded quizzing club, was part of publicity team.
Choreographed a performance for the firm's annual event.
Participated in 10K runs (if that counts).

I am interested in Strategy or Human resources(MBA). I want to know if there are better schools that ask lower GMAT score for MS in MIS.

Target schools : Texas A&M University, Rice, Michigan, Kelly, & Tepper.Texas A&M, Rice, Kelly and Tepper are fine to consider- Ross with this GMAT is not even close to target range- look at the schools in 20-35 range- many good options there!

Are these schools over ambitious for me ?

Hey StratusMBACounselor,

Thanks for your response.

Could you please list down a few more colleges?

Also, how do I make my profile good enough with such a low GMAT score?

Thanks,
rekhabishop

Thanks for sharing your profile. Those schools will be really tough for you, your low GMAT and fairly common profile would make this a tough set. I would aim to improve your GMAT when you have some time. Don't rush your application this year, do some prep and apply once you have your GMAT taken care of
