I have looked at the US programs and don't really feel qualified enough for them (both academically and financially), leading to the choice of Canada. Within Canada, I'm not qualified to apply for Rotman's analytics program as they require a 4-year degree, leaving me with McGill and UBC Sauder as the top choices. I'll apply to MIT Sloan for the heck of it, but do not expect anything from it. Are there any other programs I should consider?

As for R1, I plan on applying as soon as the cycle opens, which I believe will be in the fall.

Your GMAT is fine, even for MIT, but I would advise applying R1. Can I ask your logic with the Canadian programs? Are you planning to relocate there? Because I think you could definitely get into more competitive programs in the US if desired.

Hi everyone, need your help in assessing if I should retake the GMAT. I’m planning to apply for Master's in Analytics programs this cycle.

Target school: McGill University, University of British Columbia, MIT Sloan

Profile: Male, 22 currently
Citizenship: Indian
GMAT: 730 (Q50, V39), IR 8, AWA 6 [Given in July 2019]
GPA: Graduated with 8.9/10 CGPA with a Bachelor's in Arts (Economics Hons.) from a top undergraduate institution
IELTS: 8.5/9 [L:9, R:9, W: 7.5, S: 8]

Work experience (latest first):
- Working at Bain & Co. in the Private Equity department, focusing on American funds [Joined as Analyst in Sep 2020, promoted to Senior Analyst in Apr 2021 and currently working as an Associate from Apr 2022]
- Interned at NITI Aayog, the Indian Government's think tank for 4 months in 2019

Extracurricular (from recent to older)
- Head of two college societies: Enactus and Economics Council
- Nominated as 1 of 4 Captains during High School for 4 consecutive years

Since I gave the exam 3 years ago, I am evaluating if I should retake the exam or focus on my essays recommendations.

Any feedback to the above would be appreciated!

Hello lakshyaag,

You needn't retake the GMAT. You have a good GMAT score. So, all you need to do now is to focus on putting your best foot forward with regard to your application essays and any other components regard to the application process.

Good luck!
