Hi JAIN09,

Thank you for your post. I would require additional information to adequately evaluate your profile and recommend schools. A few questions for you:

What geographic region are you targetting?
How many years of work experience do you have?
Has all your experience been with NTPC?
Have you been involved in community service? What you describe below seems to describe hobbies and not extracurricular.

You have good academics, experiences, and GMAT, so there are b-schools that you can apply to. However, the selection process requires additional information. You can reference this article to help with your target selection.

Happy to continue the conversation. If interested click here to coordinate.

Good luck!

Consider the following points vinamra94:
  1. The transition you've managed from a pure tech (?) role into consulting can make for a pretty good story. Think about how you can make that a winning theme with more differentiation about your work at both the places.
  2. For reasons mentioned here, we do not speculate on school selection. That being said, the BIT pedigree will be useful but the GMAT would be quite out of line, all the more given your analytics (?) related work. If you have time/energy for a retake, worth a shot.
  3. While the ECs sound ok, the website looks quite basic at the moment. If you are planning to put it in your resume/app, do make sure to spruce it up - adcoms could look it up.
  4. The rationale for MBA should be expressed better else it might appear that you are underballing the impact it can get in your career.

Hope this sparks the right thoughts.

Cheers,

Hello vinamra94

Though selection of a school requires a much deeper understanding of your professional experience and extracurricular (to gauge where you would stand versus the competition) and career goals (to gauge how realistic they look and which schools they would fit with), broadly speaking Indian Engineer with a 670 would find it tough at most top 15 US B Schools (this of course does not consider any spectacular achievements that you may have and are missing from this post)
Canada/Singapore/Europe might be locations you might want to consider (the average GMAT scores might be slightly lower, but that does not mean that the schools are not selective).
But all this is broadly speaking and as mentioned earlier, would need a more qualitative understanding of work ex and career goals.
