Hi, this is Sagar here. I am writing to request a profile evaluation for my candidacy for admission to one of the top MBA programs in US, Europe, Canada and Singapore.
Target schools – (Shortlisting is to be done) DREAM - UCLA, USC M, ROSS, Darden, HEC, IESE

Age – 27
Academic Background:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University with a CGPA of 7.5 First-class (Last year)
- 10th and 12th standard: 87% / 62%
- GMAT Score: 750 / 98th Percentile
- IELTS: Overall 7 (Not less than 6)
Why MBA:
I am pursuing an MBA to accelerate the growth of my FMCG manufacturing start-up. With my expertise in supply chain management and logistics strategy, combined with international exposure from studying abroad, I aim to optimize operations, develop effective marketing strategies, and leverage the program's resources and professional network to foster personal growth in leadership and cultural sensitivity.
Short-term Goal:
In the short term, I intend to establish a strong PAN India presence for my FMCG manufacturing startup. - One year as a Maintenance Engineer promoted to Project Engineer for the next year, managing a team of around 25 members for managing plant maintenance, procurement, In-plant projects, equipment installation and stakeholder management.
- Almost 2 years of experience as the Managing Head at Activ24 Foods and Oils LLP, overseeing all management activities, digital marketing, end-to-end supply chain, logistics and inventory control.
- 6-month full-time internship focusing majorly on manufacturing practices, process improvement and TQM.
Language Proficiency:
- German language proficiency at B1 level.
Extra-curricular, Certifications and Additional Skills:
• Pursued Michigan State University's master-level 6-month certification in Integrated Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing and Logistics Strategy, which helped to scale the business.

1) I request to do profile evaluation and want to know how and in which picture I fit in.
2) As I have a low GPA in undergrad and no big brand name in work experience, are the schools selected are appropriate to my profile and eligibility?
3) I want to a work with a professional consultant who has speciality in US school admits and he knows all the insights of those schools. I expect personalized attention and proper guidance.
4) As my first preference is scholarship rather than ranking and branding, which schools should I target?

Hi Sagar.
Here's my evaluation:
Academics- the GMAT score is excellent, and congratulations for it. Your 10th and 12th marks do not matter in the MBA applications, Your undergrad GPA needs further context - where did you stand in class, as in, what was your rank compared to peers? The CGPA looks ok, but even if it were mid level at your college, it would get overshadowed by the GMAT score. So, I would say you are safe here. What caught my eye is that did you earn your degree only last year?
Work experience- As I understand- you have founded Active 24 Foods. That's great, as entrepreneurial experience is very valued by business schools. That said, it will be important to get into the details- how big is the company? what has the growth been in the years since you launched it? who are the people you lead? Were you bootstrapped? Have you raised funding? And most important, why do you need an MBA now? As its a private company, you will have to explain the details to the adcom and help them visualize your work and its impact.
Goals- Its good to see that you have spent time creating a vision about the company's growth. As your goals are so India centric, it will be worth questioning yourself on why you need an international MBA? Mostly entrepreneurs would go abroad to do an MBA, work for a few years to get some real life work experience and professional network and then come back to lead their business in 4-7 years. Your short term goal however is to come back to India and work on the startup. In this scenario, an Indian MBA may be better suited where you build a local network, understand local market dynamics and in all probability, continue to run the business opertaions while you are at business school.
ECAs- your extra curricular activities look balanced during and after college, which is a great thing. In the volunteering experience, you will have to talk specifically about your impact to the organization or its beneficiaries. If you can quantify how many people you were able to help, that would be even better.
So, to address your specific questions:
1) I request to do profile evaluation and want to know how and in which picture I fit in. - overall, your profile looks good and I think you have strong points to highlight in your application.
2) As I have a low GPA in undergrad and no big brand name in work experience, are the schools selected are appropriate to my profile and eligibility? - As I have mentioned, you will have to explain about your two jobs (nature of work, scope, size of orgs.) to the adcom. You can do that via an optional essay.

4) As my first preference is scholarship rather than ranking and branding, which schools should I target? [/i] - It ideal to apply to 5-7 b-schools in one year. You have far too many on the list - you need to do some more research into what every program can offer you and narrow down this list. However, I do have a question (mentioned earlier) about the b-school selection and would want to first hear more from you on that.
