A)which is known as the "Leningrad" Symphony, was composed at the outset of World War Two, made ----- a run –on ; no conjugation between--- Two and made ------

B) known as the "Leningrad" Symphony, composed at the outset of World War Two, and made ---- a fragment. No verb in the clause; known, composed and made are all past participles

C) which is known as the "Leningrad" Symphony, was composed at the outset of World War Two and made ---------Correct answer; rectifies the run-on in the text

D) known as the "Leningrad" Symphony and was composed at the outset of World War Two, and made --- no need for an ‘and ‘after Symphony;
E) known as the "Leningrad" Symphony, which was composed at the outset of World War Two, and made ---- The relative pronoun which renders the clause into a subordinate clause and the main clause is missing

Hi daagh,

Could you please elaborate on the explanation for point E?
Is Symphony, known acceptable in this case? Or do we need a which is before known?

And if option E was: Symphony was .... would it be the correct answer?

What is the specific problem in "Symphony, known"? 'Comma plus known' is a past participle modifying the noun just in front and is standard usage.
If you remove the relative pronoun, 'which' together with the commas belonging to the modifier, then it will be the same as C, I suppose.
