D. Correct.  The idiom “reluctant to fight” is correctly used. The comparison is clear - the construction makes it clear that comparison is between 1. fight between Indians and British colonists and 2. fight between Indians and Arabs.

I don't remember where, but I think I've seen this question before. Or maybe I've seen a question like this before. I don't know. Seems like a deja vu. Anyway, let's get on with it.

This question is about comparisons.

The intended comparison is between Indians and Arabs as they both have to fight the British colonists.

Keeping that in mind, let's analyse the options:

Here the reluctance of Indians to fight the British is being compared to the Arabs and not to the reluctance of the Arabs. Hence, this option is incorrect.

The meaning gets changed. This option suggests that Indians had to fight both the British and the Arabs. Hence, this is incorrect.

This option makes the right comparison. Let's hold on to this one.

Same error as option B.

The subject of the sentence is changed to reluctance, which is still acceptable. What isn't acceptable is the comparison. The reluctance of the Indians is being compared to the Arabs, which is incorrect.

Hence,  Option C is the correct choice.
