When are you guys planning to leave work? I was thinking July but I am now considering May. Is that too early? I want time to prepare and get up to speed on my finance knowledge as well as take a decent break before the storm.
I'm planning on mid June so I can go on a trip and brush up my math skills in general like you mentioned. I think you'd mentioned you live in NYC though? I'm counting moving time in quitting in June, since I have to move from Seattle to NYC with a dog I can't bring on a plane, so that adds a bit of extra time for me.
I think it just depends on what you want to do with your time off. The only thing my interviewer actually mentioned is that she recommends not taking more than 3 months off to just sit around and do absolutely nothing since recruiters will look at that negatively. But if you're traveling and studying, it should be fine.
