I am not sure how this works. I submitted my application on the 5th of January. Having not heard from them , I dropped them an email asking for the status on the 10th February.Turns my application hasn't been reviewed yet. Has anybody else faced this situation ? I am not quite sure what to make of it.

I did one of the most stupid mistakes when submitting application. In the past, I laughed and judged when people did similar things and now it just happened to me.
I re-used my optional essay for several schools. One of the topics I have in my optional essay is about my choice of referees. Yesterday I submitted my application to Olin, which does not require recommendation letter at all, without deleting that part about referee choice. I am beating myself right now after realizing it.
Please advise: should I contact them and tell about my mistake or should I just do nothing and hope that they will let it go???

My 2 cents:
- If you admit this is your mistake, then you will do nothing better, if not worse, for your application. So I think you should let it go;
- I think you include the choice of referees in the optional essay probably because it shows something good about you or what traits of the referees you admired, etc. If so, then you could email them to explain that you intentionally included this part into the optional essay because it tells more about you, personally or professionally, and that you want they know about this. The adcom will not judge you just because you are applying to other schools which require recommendation letters.
