Never heard about this, but, according to clearadmit, seems like majority indeed comes on Jan 25th:-) Could only expect the level of anxiety if Jan 25th wouldn't receive invite!

Hopefully as they seem to imply in previous communications they at least send them all out in one mass wave on the 25th and 30th at noon EST. It's already nervy enough waiting, makes it a little better if you know that you don't have to refresh that email inbox every 3 minutes until 5pm.

From HBS Director’s blog sent on Oct 2nd 2017 (for R1 applicants): Quick note: As promised, interview invitations will start going out today. Approximately 2/3 of the Round 1 interview invitations will go out at approximately noon Eastern time today via email, with interview slots opening for registration Tuesday, October 3. The remaining 1/3 will go out on Thursday, October 5, along with the “further consideration” or “early release” decisions. So if you don’t hear anything today, please stick with us until Thursday!
