Hello all,

I am planning on going through the application process next fall. I have been a lurker on this site for a while, and just recently stumbled on the Consortium. If anyone has the time, could they clarify what candidates they look for? I somewhat understand their mission statement, but am unsure if I would qualify.

I'm a Hispanic male with 6 years active duty military service prior to my current pursuit of an bachelors degree in economics. I am an active member of the Chinese Language and Culture Club at my University. I was anticipating running for President of the organization for what will be my senior year('18-'19). Would this help my cause in terms of meeting the Consortium mission statement?

You have a heck of a lot going for you. I think being the president of a club will help you the general sense of being in another leadership position, but not as much as doing something specifically demonstrates your commitment to the CGSM mission (unless the culture club serves a function more directly related to the CGSM mission than I'm thinking... which would obviously be great).

Either way, apply.

I think your chances are good and I don't think they are looking only for people who have specifically helped increase representation of underrepresented minorities in business school and management roles. They are looking for people who have demonstrated a strong value of diversity and inclusion. If this sounds like you, you have a good chance of gaining membership.

Just think of it this way- you are already not a member. The worst thing that can happen is nothing changes. You have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain.

Hello!

I am preparing to submit R2 and am having a few technical questions regarding the application. For those of you who have been admitted or completed the application, I would really appreciate your help!

1) Are the character counts inclusive of spaces? I read somewhere that they are but wanted to make sure. (Also, did anyone notice if the text box will allow a few more characters than the maximum?)

2) I am unable to copy and paste my essays into the text boxes using Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I also tried copying and pasting into Notepad first, but still no luck.

Any and all help/feedback is very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi! I remember having the same issue with copy-pasting, it will not allow you to copy-paste unless you are within the character limit stated (including spaces, if I'm remembering correctly). So even if a schools' traditional app says 500 words and you are at 500 words, you may be over the Consortium version of the app's character limit. Hope that helps!
