Hi Sahibx Be it ISB or other schools like HBS, Wharton, Stanford & INSEAD, they would love to have you in the class. Although, these schools receive Indian applications with such strong GMAT scores they are majorly from Engineering graduates pursuing engineering jobs. A Career diplomat with such rich and diverse national and international work experience will be highly valued by the ISB and other schools to which you wish to apply to. As far as assumed downsides are concerned they are not new to these schools as they strongly believe in 'people succeed irrespective of weakness' and your excellent GMAT score speaks of it. For the Short Term Goals, is anyone writing about an alternative/backup plan as well? ISBmantra , MananS4G , any thoughts on the above?

don’t think you need to. focus on plan A here and leave the plan B discussion to the interview. You know in most cases the question will be asked so be prepared and hit it out of the park
