Have any US citizens received an invite for the Park Fellowship Interview/Leadership event? I was invited to interview but believe that I was dinged for the Park Fellowship as the interview invite did not mention the fellowship.

Thanks

Were you asked to schedule a regular interview from various time slots? If it follows previous years, I believe those who are considered for the Park Fellowship are invited to a special LEAD weekend in Ithaca.

I was not invited to any such event. Received a standard interview invite last week. Considering that a ding from the fellowship. Thanks for your response!

From what I understand 2/3 of Johnson interviewees are admitted so I hopefully have that going for me!

Nikhil just posted this on the Kellogg Chat, I’ve always gone of 14-17 data analysis by MBA Data Guru, but supposedly post-interview acceptance rates sit at 80% now for Cornell. I remember we discussed this a while back on this chat.. but... is this actually true? From my anecdotal evidence and chats i still heard the 66% number
80+% according to an article by Nikhil even

335 GRE, 4+ years of Core strategy consulting Experience, Worked with a good consultant for essays, Everyone I spoke to at cornell said I had a good shot

Only caveat of my profile is low UG CGPA, Though my GRE and Cornell’s claim of not giving importance to stats had my hopes up for Cornell

But unfortunately rejected, can’t figure out why

I’m having a hard time figuring this out too. So sorry to hear. Was your GPA below 3.0? Did you submit an optional essay explaining your low GPA? Were your post MBA goals reasonable and attainable?

on an absolute conversion less than 3, but with WES conversion would between 3 and 3.2

Yes, explained it on the optional essay

Hey.. I understand how difficult it is. I am waitlisted too.

Admissions for Indians is a different ball game - luck plays a big factor.
A couple of adcoms of Top 25 schools mentioned to me that over 1000 Indians applied to them. I assume that’s the case with most good schools.
Around 30 Indians are eventually enrolled and even considering yeild rate of 50 p. Only 6 percent get admits.
Probably they would have picked only Couple of Indians from each -finance, strategy, tech backgrounds.

Bottom line : Admisssion is based on applicant pool as well.
A couple of applicants from same background might have had better exp or something extraordinarily good. Adcoms might have optimised diversity in Indians being admitted.

Luck plays factor because my story might be interesting for one adcom and might not sound great to other person. I presume lot of Indians would have applied with strong scores- after certain level possibly 330 they might go for good stories.

Just apply for more schools to optimise your chances.
It’s going pretty strange for me as well.
One of top 10 schools gave an interview invite. Other school around 20th rank didn’t give an interview invite.

i completely empathise. but i’ll say this - i am a reapplicant, last year i applied to 7 schools, dinged everywhere. this year - no increase in score, but applied and got interviewed in all the schools + received an admit with scholarship at fuqua. all i mean to say is - dont read too much into these results and dont take them to heart. just keep chipping away. its a black box, and no one knows what works exactly. All the best to everyone going through this. i know just how horrible it can feel.
