Businessconquerer admitStreet MBAPrepCoach MBAandBeyondCan any of you please help in reviewing my profile and also give your honest feedback/recommendation. Also looking forward to probably more in depth one on one conversations to take the admission process forward.
Background and Profile (Professional)Indian Male graduate from IIT Bombay (2015 batch). This is one of the top most UG school of India. Total 8.5 years of experience across consulting and 2 famous startups. Played a very important role in both the startups in their growth journeys. Worked in India for 5 years and working in UAE (Dubai) for the last 3 years. Currently heading an entire vertical of 35 people and responsible for p&l, growth of the vertical.
Academics and GMAT-Score of 665 in GMAT FE ( equivalent to 720 classic). Avg CGPA during undergrad
Extra currics-Won 3 elections in my college and held different positions in the student council. Plus lot of activities in swimming and music.
Why MBA-Looking to move into consulting (big 4) or work into VC firms. Never felt the need of MBA for so many years but realised for the roles that I am looking to get into mba is must. And INSEAD would be the best college for the same (ofcourse my dream but lets see what they want

)
Your feedback and insights would be helpful. I know it is difficult to get into R4 but with my high experience (high age 32) not on my side trying to apply as early as possible but definitely open for jan'25 intake too. Thanks a ton
shantanu09 - interesting profile overall. A few thoughts:
1. Your IIT pedigree and GMAT (assuming balanced Q/ V/ DI) are good, and along with the work-ex, would help compensate for CGPA.
2. Work-ex looks strong, given the international exposure and P&L leadership/ entrepreneurial experience: two aspects that INSEAD values. Would like to understand your key achievements, projects, skillsets gained etc. to assess the professional arc better.
3. Having a strong narrative incl. your motivation for 'why mba, why now' and 'why consulting' would be crucial. Having worked in consulting in the Middle-East, I agree that the MBA tag certainly helps, but the motivations would have to be deeper.
4. Would like to know more about your involvement in ECs, ideally recent ones (post undergrad), and what you learned, etc.
5. My suggestion, especially as an international applicant, is to look at Jan batch as you'd be in the earlier rounds there. While R4 isn't impossible, the bar is higher and would present lesser chances for scholarships. As an FYI, the age range of INSEAD's class is 23-35 years (average=29).
If you haven't already, I'd highly suggest establishing a connect with AdCom (thro' info-sessions or ideally 1:1) to discuss your experiences/ motivations and seek their feedback: this is particularly important for more-experienced applicants.
Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to have a deeper chat.
Regards,
Arvind
