Well, I'm not sure I'll get anything in terms of scholarship from Tuck. All I want is an admit!

Submitted my form/essay, anyway.

Heading up to Tuck on Monday for my interview. Definitely excited as Tuck is one of my top choices! Anyone else interviewing Monday?

I thought you had only 2 choices (Tuck and Yale). :-D Just kidding...

I'm interviewing on 10/21, the following Monday... Will arrive at Hanover on Saturday, though. Anyone here going to be there?

Ha ha, well Tuck and Yale are my top two choices ;) BUT, I've decided to also apply to Duke and Georgetown as well.

So, had my interview / visit to Tuck on Monday and have to say, it definitely lived up to the hype. First, having never visited Hanover before, the town is positively lovely and the campus is gorgeous. It also helped that it was a perfect autumn day.

One always hears about how pleasant the people are, and if anything that aspect was an understatement. Everyone I met was engaged, excited about Tuck, had great information, and all in all was simply enjoyable to talk to. The interview itself really was as friendly as they make it sound. Seriously, I actually enjoyed the interview.

It seemed they tried to pair candidates up (though this could have been a happy coincidence) with interviewers who were going into similar fields that we wanted to transition into. For instance, I had a student going to MBB, another guy who wanted to go into VC got a VC guy, a person interested in healthcare consulting had the same, etc.

Also I would say that the Courtyard Mariott in Lebanon was an excellent value, a short drive away, and the shuttle took me literally to the front door of Tuck. Highly recommend it if you are visiting Tuck!

Finally mailed the scholarship and financial aid documents.

BTW, I got a mail from one of the directors of Tuck admissions yesterday saying that my application file has been processed and has moved onto a member of the Admissions Committee to be read. Talk about transparency! You have got to love the Tuck adcom.

I received the invitation for the coffee - not sure if I will go, got a meeting at my company on 9am on Monday. Been on campus for the interview last Monday (@Flyte: I guess you can remember me - there were not many people around in the afternoon).

I totally loved the school, too. Admission forwarded the date when I interviewed to the German 2nd year students, who contacted me upfront. I was able to meet with two of them, although they had the week off. I got a better feeling about the people and life at Tuck, and I am totally into it. Well, interview is over, so now it means I have to WAIT..

Does anyone know what the deal with interviews is? If I don't schedule an interview by November 6, but I apply for the November deadline, will I still be considered for this round? If I am considered for this round, will it hurt my chances?

Below is an excerpt from Tuck's website. Seems like scheduling your own interview by the "deadline" is optional.

Quote:

Applicant-Initiated Interviews

Tuck offers all applicants the opportunity to interview on campus in Hanover. Interviews are scheduled online on a first-come, first-served basis, so please request an interview as soon as you decide to apply. On-campus interviews begin in September. Please schedule your interview online at least five days prior to the date you'd like to visit. With the exception of the January round, your interview must be completed by the published deadline for the round in which you are applying (the January round applicant-initiated interview deadline is January 31st). Please note that all applicant-initiated interviews are conducted on campus only.

Admissions Committee-Initiated Interviews

If you have not been able to come to Hanover for an on-campus interview by the published deadline, the admissions committee may invite you to interview. Such invitations are made only after an initial review of a candidate's application. Unfortunately we cannot invite all applicants to interview; therefore, we underscore the importance of taking advantage of applicant-initiated, on-campus interviews. Committee-initiated interviews will be conducted on campus, off campus, or by Skype.

On-campus interviews are conducted by admissions committee members and admissions associates (selected second-year students). Off-campus interviews are conducted by admissions committee members, admissions associates, or alumni interviewers. All interviews are evaluated equally, regardless of interviewer, location, or how initiated.

Hi Paradox69,

Even if you do not schedule an interview, you will be considered for November round. However, I strongly suggest you give the interview at Tuck before applying. Tuck values a lot about prospective students taking pains to come and visit the school. They want happy alumni. So they are hell bent on taking people who have seen what it likes to be part of Tuck and decided this is where they want to be. Believe me, once you visit Tuck, you will get hooked.

In one of the videos, Dwanan Clarke, Director of admissions at Tuck, says not visiting the campus is one of the common mistakes people do. She didn't say very strongly though. But she hinted that it is a mistake.

Best,
Prodizy

I think they prefer reading the application once they have the written interview report available. If they have the interview report, they have all the information they need and they can either admit or deny or mark as a borderline applicant. Otherwise they have to take a decision on whether to interview or not, and consider your application(again) close to the deadline when they discuss the applicants.

Unfortunately I am away from Munich on Sunday till November.
The AO then replied that she is not able to meet me this time, she will ask other AO to arrange SKYPE Interview for me.
Is it a interview invitation?

Another option is, as @Flyte noted, staying in the Courtyard Marriott and then taking their shuttle to Tuck. As parking in Hanover is expensive, that is a nice option if you choose to get a rental.
