Hello everyone,
I have a big dilemma and am hoping to get some help deciding what to do,
Here is my Profile:
31 M Indian (citizen) / Canadian (PR)
6 years WE mostly in Drilling Engineering at a multinational E&P
OG company in Canada and 1 year in US
Gmat 730
Education - Undergrad Chemical ( Andhra Uni - 77% ) ; Grad ( U Calgary - 3.7 )
ST Goal: Consulting - Energy ( O&G LDP if I get lucky
)
Location Preference - None (Easy with NA or Europe)
Program preference - very slight preference to 1 year MBA (with internship)
I applied to Insead and might apply to IE/IESE/IMD in Europe (decided against LBS R4 - no scholarship
)
My dilemma is whether to apply to US business schools in R3 ??I know my chances are low since I am an international aplicant in over-represented category (slight advantage with Energy background and Canadian / US experience)
Also, I am discouraged to apply to US schools given the current political situation which is hostile to internationals
Should I just stick with European B-schools?
If I do decide to apply, which category schools should I focus on, given that it is R3?
My top choices before I took the Gmat were UCLA/ Texas / Rice / Foster (given my energy background)
Now my friends here are pushing me to aim big and apply to Top 10 schools even though it is R3 - reasoning being if I get into a top school, companies would have better motivation to sponsor visa
Any advice would be a huge help to make this call
