The answer is A. Latin was still existing during the Renaissance.In the paragraph it is mentioned that insistence on using the classical form of Latin brought about the downfall of Latin language during the Renaissance according to the historian Johan Huizanga. This clearly indicates the presence of Latin as a language during the Renaissance.Please give me kudos. I need them badly to increase my score.

B- we can not comment if the effect was positive or negative
C- if it was preferred it would not have caused the death of Latin
D- out of scope
E- no evidence in the stimulus

Latin was still a living language during the Renaissance. -->  if someone says something lead to the death of something , no matter if it is true or false that thing must have been alive before it was killed . the guy says renaissance killed latin , so latin must have been alive during renaissance

B. The death of the Latin language was a negative effect of the Renaissance.-->  this is based on a historian's claim not the authors claim ,in such cases it could always be true that the person saying the statement (unless its the author) may be wrong

C. The classical form of Latin was preferred during the Renaissance. --->  it says " insisted" . classical latin may not be the preferred if it had to be insisted  
D. Other forms of Latin had been corrupted by the time of the Renaissance. ---->  no evidance 
E. Classical Latin is a lesser form of Latin than that spoken during the Renaissance -->  no evidance

The key to cracking the question is not rushing but rather contemplating each of the topics with the premise stated in the argument 
A - only if the language was alive it can be changed let's hang on to it 
B-this option was so tempting that's why this question is on the higher side of gmat so we never know whether it was due to the better creative option they switched back to classic , this was my argument to eleminate in the last lap 
C-We never know whether it was prefeered or not we just know it was insisted whether it was done because of a deeper love or not we are not made aware of .
D- we have as of now no clue whether it's corrupted or not 
E -lesser or greater is also not there in our realm of understanding
