Difficult..IMO, OA is C
A. The Nobel Prize for literature brings with it more acclaim, honor and recognition than the Booker Prize.
-> Nobel Prize is out of scope.
B. Whenever any literary award is announced, it is usual for the people in the field the world over to raise controversies, most of which are unjustified
-> Not weaken. The argument said 'vicious backbiting on occasion'. So B is just true.
C. There have been some years, including the year in which Arundati Roy was chosen for the award, when there was universal approval of the choices.
=> I chose this. Because of the work 'universal approval of the choices'.
D. This year's Booker Prize for the novel 'The Line of Beauty' has raised a controversy that it is not better than another entry 'Cloud Atlas'.
-> Same as B

ARGUMENT
booker awards are not merely about who wins, but they are also about who deserved to win, why someone lost and whether someone else was unfairly overlooked – issues that become brawls and backbiting etc.
WEAKEN
(A) nobel prize x booker is irrelevant;
(B) "any award is accompanied by controversies (most unjustified)" this strengthens by saying that awards cause issues although unjustified;
(D) this also strengthens by pointing out one of the issues described in the argument;
(E) "where one WOULD think" this is a conditional clause, thus is COULD or not weaken the argument;
Answer (C): "some years… universal approval of choices" this weakens the arg by proving the awards were awarded unanimously without any issues.
