Unfortunately, I didn't receive an increase in the scholarship amount! The adcom said there were very rare cases in which they increase the amount after the 4 rounds of admission. I decided to pay the deposit for KF though!

FinAid is often limited and pre-definied and to offer you more $$, that means often that someone has to refuse a scholarship for the funds to become available. It is fairly rare, though it does happen sometimes in an unexpected way. Most schools have a clear no-negotiations position, though, again, they may kick something in where they see that it is NOT a negotiation and where they are somehow strongly attached to an applicant.
