Hi FreakingGPAforZero,

If your next GMAT appointment is in about 10 days or so, then you should NOT take more than 1-2 additional CATs during that time (taking more than that would NOT be beneficial and you'd just end up 'wasting' a bunch of CATs that you might need later on).

You ask how you can know whether you've improved in SCs enough (or not). How did you perform on your SCs when you took these last two CATs?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi,
I am not sure since Kaplan does not offer scaled sub scores in quant and verbal, but I saw in my analysis that I got about 60-80% right in SC with mistakes mainly in high level questions and in some medium. (Kaplan does these categories).

I took another Kaplan CAT today (won't do another from now on):
660 (Q41/V39)

so while my Verbal improved once again, my Quant has a fairly huge variance as you can see, nevertheless I am pretty sure that on test day I am at least able to reach a Q43+, since I did not execute my strategy well today (spent too much time on hard questions, did not skip the very difficult ones) and I also did some very stupid mistakes in easy ones. I account that to my lack of concentration rather than to a fundamental knowledge problem.

On another note: I feel like the RC passages in Kaplan are waay too difficult to be honest and I also have more problems with Kaplan's CR Questions than I do with the official ones. Can anybody confirm?

Hi FreakingGPAforZero,

GMAC has 3 total exam packs: the free exam pack, exam pack 1, and exam pack 2. You said that you have taken the exams from two exam packs. Does that mean that you have completed the exams from the free exam pack and exam pack 1? If that is the case, you might consider purchasing exam pack 2 and taking one of those exams to get an accurate and up-to-date GMAT score. When taking the exam, try to replicate the test day experience as much as possible: Go to the library instead of taking the test in your house or apartment. Be sure to complete all sections (AWA, IR, Quant, and Verbal). Only take the allotted breaks.

If you score near a 640, you are most likely ready for your upcoming exam. However, if you score well under a 640, you may consider scheduling your GMAT for a later date. Furthermore, the results of that practice test, will give you a better idea of whether you have improved your SC knowledge since your last exam.

Once you take another practice exam, feel free to report back with your score breakdown and we can provide some further advice.

Have you taken the exams from the free exam pack more than once?

Exam 1: 2x times
Exam 2: 3x times

Exam Pack 1:
Exam 1: 3x times
Exam 2: 3x times

same for Exam pack 2

Btw: The fact that you are strongly asking for any left official CAT tells me that you don't trust the Kaplan Cats at all right?

No that is not what I'm saying. I just prefer the official practice exams since those exams provide the most accurate exam experience and use the most accurate scoring algorithm.

So I am finding myself in a situation where I don't really know how well or bad I will do on exam day ? :/

What would you suggest?
