Ooh, agreed - Illy coffee is good. So is Peet's.
If you really want to put on the taped glasses and pocket protector and learn more than you ever wanted to know about coffee, I recommend https://www.coffeegeek.com and the Coffee Geek podcast (easily found through iTunes). Sometimes it's an overdose, but definitely educational.
For mass-market chain, I'll take Caribou Coffee over Starbucks any day.
