E-GMAT's verbal online course is an effective material for learning the fundamentals of GMAT's verbal section and skills needed to shine on the exam day! I'm glad to say that in the first attempt itself, I was able to get a decent score because of e-gmat's verbal material.
The whole material is very interactive and helps clear the common doubts faced by test takers. Sentence Correction became very easy after I followed the three step process recommended by e-gmat. My verbal skills improved dramatically. The most important quality of e-gmat's material is perhaps its simplicity, which helps students to effectively grasp the basic concepts and advance with time.
Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension are equally good. By following the different techniques suggested by e-gmat, one would be able break down complex questions and get the answer.
I conclude e-gmat's verbal online is not only an effective guide to gain insight of GMAT verbal but also a material which makes learning easier, as you'll never find it boring.

I relied completely on e-GMAT for my preparations and scored 710 (Q47, V40) in my very first attempt.
I have been out of school and getting back to academics after almost twelve years. The verbal section is very well organized into different segments. I simply followed the course as it was laid out. One important feature I felt is that the practice questions at the end of every chapter also directed you back to the Official Guide which is the most important source for the type of questions one can expect. Scholaranium is an excellent tool to analyze your mistakes and sections where you need the most improvement. You could also customize the ability quizzes and relevant sections to target areas where you think you are lacking. Overall, I felt the course is perfectly designed to suit the needs of what one wants to achieve in a limited time. It took me about 2-3 months of effective training to get to a 700+ score.

So I decided in September 2016 to take the GMAT exam. Like most other people, I began with baselining myself with a mock test. As with most engineers, I breezed through Quant with a Q50, but the winds really turned around when I hit the Verbal section and was stuck with a paltry V21.

Nursing my bruised ego, I went scouting for reliable resources to bolster my Verbal score... and that's when landed with this absolute jewel - the e-gmat verbal course!

What I assumed to be another 'grammar made easy' course actually turned out to be my bastion of support to strengthen my skills in each of the areas - SC, RC & CR. The interface is engaging and absolutely fluid. The lessons are packaged into neat capsules, not delivering even a bit extra than you can consume in one go. Because of the audio interface, I could go through the lessons anytime - while travelling to work, waiting in a queue or simply sitting through during my study time.

The support from the team, webinars and scholaranium tests helped my pick my score one step at a time to bring me to a V34. Kudos team e-gmat - you are the one for us non-natives!

How I prepared for GMAT verbal section

I started my GMAT preparation about 18 months ago. This is my first standardized test so a lot of things were new to me when I first started. I started by buying the OG 2015. When I started solving it reading comprehension or the critical reasoning part did not give me that much of a trouble. I had few problems in those sections but I thought I could overcome those with more practice. But when I started the sentence correction part it was a completely different story. Even if I could luckily guess the answer of some questions I could not tell why that answer was better than rest of the options. I actually stopped preparing for GMAT for a while. Then about seven months ago I started again preparing for GMAT. However, when I started sentence correction I faced the same problem. This is the first time I actually started using GMAT club. I heard of e-gmat from one of my friends before but didn't really think of buying it that time. In GMAT club I saw an advertisement of e-gmat that said I could actually try the course first before buying it and even after buying it I could learn for few days and see whether I like it and if I did not they would give my money back. So, I thought well no harm in trying. So I first signed up for the free trial version and I liked their approach of solving sentence correction very much so I decided to buy the course.

After 6 months I sat for my GMAT exam but it did not really do as well as I expected to do. I scored a 650 out of 800 with a score of 35 in verbal. I was really shocked because I used GMAT Prep software to prepare for the exam and I never scored below 38. So, I tried to find out where I went wrong and found out my test taking strategy was seriously flawed. So I took a month and sat for the exam again and this time I scored 710 and this time my score in the verbal section was 40.
Here are the things that I found most useful while I used egmat:

1. e-gmat focuses on the meaning of the sentence very much. At first it may seem very time consuming and it took me 3/4 minutes to solve sentence correction questions in this way but with practice I was able to solve sentence correction questions in 60 to 90 seconds when I was done with the course.

2. The experts in egmat are very very helpful. There is also a forum with many questions from past students and many of them actually asked the questions I had in mind so I could find the answers to my question without trouble and when I had a unique question the experts were always there to answer my questions.

3. I had least trouble in the critical reasoning part of GMAT but there was one question type that troubled me and that was bold faced question. After using e-gmat's method I actually could solve bold faced questions quite well. The e-gmat critical reasoning course teaches critical reasoning in a very structured way and I believe it can be helpful to those who are facing problem in this section.

Lastly, I have a personal experience and it is not really directly related to the course itself but I want to share it since it actually helped me. My first GMAT exam was on 21st January 2017 but my e-gmat access ended in 7/10 days before that day. I mailed them asking for help and they extended my access till 31st January without any additional cost. It was a really nice thing to do from their part. So, If anyone else is facing problem in the verbal section I suggest to try the free course first and i believe they will actually find it useful as I did and take informed decision.

VA for non-native speakers: Focus on analysing weaknesses

I wrote my GMAT in December '16 (720- V38, Q50). Being a math enthusiast, I was confident in handling the Quantitative section- I also had good scores in the mock tests. However, my verbal score in the mocks couldn’t cross 32. I was aiming a 700+ score and that’s when I came across e-gmat through the GMATClub reviews.

I was initially hesitant in taking up an online course, but once I experienced their free trial I was convinced e-gmat was the right path ahead. If there are two things I’d say helped me immensely, they would be the practice I had everyday (I spent 2 hours daily) and the focus I had on finding my weaknesses (Scholaranium is a great tool for this, I’d totally go with what the positive reviews say). The video-based learning was effective in terms of retaining concepts and correlating them while solving problems.

Thank you e-GMAT for helping me score well in the VA section, and improve my reading skills as a whole. I whole heartedly recommend this to any non-native speaker who wants to ace the GMAT.

All the best to you all !!

Being a non-native, preparation in verbal course was necessary and need of the hour. My friend introduced me to e-GMAT and I cannot thank him enough for having done that. The videos provided by e-GMAT are full of adequate content and provide good practice questions. This course has helped me brush up my concepts very well.

The RC videos were really helpful as well. e-GMAT provides you a number of key strategies that you must keep in mind while reading through RCs. The best thing in e-GMAT is the scholaranium. it provides practice with previous GMAT test questions and thoroughly prepared questions that test understanding of concepts on the line of GMAT. scholaranium comes with practice and quiz options to practice questions and prepare for test conditions with timed quizzes.

Thank you e-GMAT once again and thanks to all those who read my review till the very end. I hope I was able to motivate a few of you out there like me, who may have totally given up on RC.

All the best to you all !!

I have used the verbal live prep extensively to increase my verbal score. I used to consistently get V 27-30 and after using verbal live prep my score jumped by 10 points
The video lessons explain the basics of each concept and once you master the basic concepts, solving the hard questions becomes easy.
The video lessons are another amazing feature. The video lessons explain in detail the strategy to be used for each question type in verbal and paves a path to be followed. Mastering the basic concepts and attending the verbal live prep classes/recordings will ensure that you follow a defined and tested strategy for each question type.

I cant thank E-gmat enough for creating this awesome tool

The e-GMAT's verbal scholaranium course really helped me better my verbal score. I must admit that I didn't spend a lot of time the first time around to review all the verbal material, but I saw a huge improvement in my Sentence Correction score, and ended up getting about 80% correct on the final test. I repurchased the course for my second attempt and I already see a 20 point improvement from working through the CR and RC scholaranium questions, and hope to continue to use that to reach my target score. Would highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their verbal scores (especially if you're a non-native speaker that struggles with breaking down complex sentences and passages)!

Great Verbal Course for Non Natives

Although I've not yet taken the GMAT this course was helpful in breaking the v30 barrier in my prep. The course material is detailed at the same time very easy to understand. Moreover the scholaranium tests help you gauge the current improvement. From the average v24 on tests this has helped me shoot the verbal score to v34.

My target score is around v44-v45 with still the RC and SC courses pending & I highly recommend this product for Non natives so that they can easily work on their foundations rather than just beating around the bush with few tips and tricks provided by other prep companies. The course starts with building your basics of grammar -> transitions to SC -> CR -> RC in a systematic approach. You can try out their sample vids to check if the approach is useful or not and then decide.

As a non-native English speaker (and writer as you will see) I needed a course that thought me the foundations, the tricks and the strategy. Now I can say that e-gmat has been extreamly usefull learning tool of those 3 aspects.
- The foundations of SC, Cr and RC are very well covered in their concept files that start from the basic through advanced material
- The verbal live sessions really worth it. The sessions are very well prepared and designed to go deep into core aspects such as pre-thinking or the 3 process step for SC questions
- The strategy sessions tough you how to improve your score and gives you understanding on key things to keep in mind, like takt time
- Scholarium is a great tool for practice your weak areas and keep track of your performance
