E-gmat verbal live prep is one of the best course for non-native speakers. Have mostly used their SC course and must say their 3 step process for solving the question is really helpful. Initially it takes time to intenalize the process but after practise it becomes easy and is very efficient. Moreover I also like their OG video solutions using 3 step process which gives an opportunity to rectify mistakes made while using the process and strengthen further on the concepts. I further liked their quiz section in which questions are very close to Gmat questions and test the concepts frequently tested on Gmat. I would recommend this course to all serious aspirants. Thanks.
Enrolled in for eGMAT's Live Prep course. - Midway through - Review
After taking GMAT for 3 times, I was unable to understand how to improve my verbal score, that is when through GMAT Club a came across a free session by eGMAT.
Live prep first session - SC
I learnt something that always missed - Meaning - context
second, until you complete the fundamentals never run at the time.
It has been a continuous learning since then. I will update this review towards the end of my course, however for now I can say this is the best course I have found for Non Natives. -- Kudos Rajat, Payal!!!
Hello Everyone,
Being a non-native speaker and not so good at verbal, I always had a mentality where i considered Verbal to be very difficult. On the other hand I had this itch of acing GMAT that never calmed me and I always tried to improve my verbal score. To start with,I purchased MGMAT SC and CR books, but I eventually ended up with the same result without any significant improvement. Although, MGMAT SC book is good, I was not able to connect with the book. Then I tried to search for better book/resource/course to improve my verbal score and I must say I am lucky enough to end up with one of the best course available today: "E-GMAT Verbal Live Prep".
The course is planned in a such a way that you will always feel comfortable with the content and it always encourages you to move to next level. The way the faculty goes deep into the explanations and make you understand the basic concepts is truly remarkable. The live classes are so interactive that you will learn lot of new concepts not only from faculty but also from your peer group.
E-gmat Verbal live prep course has certainly boosted my confidence in tackling verbal part of GMAT. I would recommend this course to every non-native/native speaker out there who is thinking of 700+ score.
Being a re-taker it was really difficult to re-start my preparation as earlier, I was very low in confidence while solving the verbal questions. So, I decided to join the verbal live course of e-gmat after attending one of the free webinars.
Honestly, all the sections of verbal were my weakness but SC being the weakest. Starting my preparation with SC I learned the 3-step process of solving the SC questions. So slowly but steadily my confidence boosted and I fearlessly started attacking even complex sentences. To understand the meaning first, then look for the errors and finally POE was really important to solve the SC questions. Key was to rigorously sticking to the PROCESS.
Then for CR, the process of pre-thinking really improved my accuracy in solving the CR especially assumption and evaluate type questions. It is really important to take out 15-20 secs for pre-thinking after understanding the argument before jumping to POE. Pre-thinking is very much important and essential to solve the CR questions. 15-20 secs saved around 45-60 secs of my time.
While solving the RC passages I learned the importance of active reading and paragraph wise understanding. This really boosted my confidence to solve the inference and main idea type questions.
Finally, the question bank of Scholaranium was like the icing on the cake. Over 600 numbers of different GMAT like questions along with different level were really important to know my accuracy and ability level. In Scholaranium, I could create my own verbal test to check my level and to know how much more time I should give to what section. I would really recommend all the GMAT takers to go for this particular course.!! All the best..
The e-gmat is the most interesting, lucid and precise way to approach the Verbal section of the Gmat .It not only helps you understand the basic of the questions asked in the test, but also helps you strategies the approach to them as well. The concepts in the critical reasoning specially the pre-thinking has been a great help to me . I have also been greatly influenced by the reading comprehension strategies and the approach in the module. The questions involved in the modules of SC,RC and CR are a must to practice and it also builds ones stamina and confidence. A must have for any GMAT aspirant.
I was skeptical of using online course and used to think that classroom study was the best way. But, E-GMAT has surely changed this trend. E-GMAT has made it easy to understand the nuances of GMAT verbal section. I was surprised to the see the amount of details given to each section and especially to SC-Modifiers. This was one area where I lacked and with E-gmat’s thesis on V+ed, V+ing, and Noun+Noun phrase modifier, tackling SC- Modifiers questions was a piece of cake. There SC, CR and RC sections have a well defined structure and study plan.
Thanks to E-GMAT and I recommend Verbal Live course for all those who are tired of doing routine courses available in the market.
When I started my GMAT prep,i was doing fairly in quants but in verbal i was almost lost.I gave some mocks where i keep scoring 49 in QA bt 27-28 in verbal.I took egmat verbal course and within few weeks,i started understanding the intricacies of GMAT exams that i was missing. The egmat sentence correction module is best, then the RC and CR.When I took the final mock GMATs,I started scoring 37-38 in verbal section. However,my story was not like the happy ending one.On the D day,in the real GMAT i dont know what happened,I scored only 29 in verbal. Here comes the best part of egmat.Feeling dejected I planned to retake the GMAT but by the time I will take my GMAT,my subscription for this course will be over.My friend have been part of other institute also but rarely these institutes extend the subscription without an extra fee.EGMAT not only extended my subscription free of cost but also did contact me first to ask whether i want to extend the subscription in order to retake the GMAT.Hope my next attempt will be better than the last one.
I have subscribed to e-GMAT Verbal Live Prep .
Background : I gave my first GMAT attempt on Nov 3rd 2014 and ended up with a score of 610 :( with split of Q45 V28 or so Needless to say , I was too disappointed , more so because I have always been an above average student and believed that my calibre was 700+ . I had prepared for about 4 months for my first attempt .
I decided to give another try , but sad part for me was , I was unable to figure how to improve on Verbal .I knew that I had to imporve on verbal , but didnt know exactly how . Unable to decide my next course of action , I decided to consult a few friends who had scored a decent GMAT score and am glad I did this . One of my friend who had taken up this course , vouched so much for e-GMAT VLP course, in fact he told me that the course is worth every penny . The very next day I subscribed for e-GMAT Verbal Live Prep and believe me this has been the best thing I did .
Best things about this course :
> The most important thing is " There is a Process " for solving questions . Believe me it makes life soo simple . All you have to do is follow the step by step process and does not require you to be a genius
> The concepts are soo well explained in audio and slides that , one wont get bored / tired .
> Its coverage / material is enough . No other material is required
> All OG problems are classified under respective subjects and e-GMAT process is applied for solving same
> Most importantly the Saturday & sunday Live sessions are just amazing . You can actually solve the questions live with the instructor and ask your queries live .
> My Most favourite part -- RC course . ( Yes ! believe me , you can improve on RC too !!! )
> Needless to mention - the dreaded MODIFIERS are soo simplified as VERB ING / ED modifiers ( Prior to this I didnt know when the modifer modified the preceeding clause and when it modified the noun )
> You get Free IR course - each type of IR is soo well explained
> Your queries are always addressed . Most of the times , I used to get replies to my query mails within the same hour .
> Free GMAT CLub tests
Studying with E-GMAT VLP , I now can easily identify the SC erros , drastically improved in RC .
Just before my GMAT second attept I averaged about 39 in verbal in my mock tests ( 37 , 40 , 44 ). My accuracy in RC reached 90% .
However in my actual GMAT second attempt , due to anxiousness I again ended up doing badly . 640 ( Q 44 , V34 ) .
But needless to say , I improved about 6 points in Verbal and am 110% sure I can easily get it to 38+ . So now on my prep for my 3rd attempt .
Happy with the course , I have also subscribed to their quant individual courses.
according to me this course is good for indian students who are not from english medium background at graduate level. sentence correction is the part which i liked the most it is very extensive and need not look for any other resources, In critical reasoning the inference, assumption and negation topics are excellent. Almost all the topics in the course start from very basic level and slowly moves to advanced level which I think serves indian students very well.Best option for indian students when compared to all the gmat courses available online and that too at very affordable price.
To begin with, I am yet to appear for my gmat exam, this is a mid-preparation review written with an intent to help the fellow gmat test takers who are preparing for gmat. I am a chartered accountant and non-native speaker. Thus a lot of efforts have to be put into both quant and verbal. I started with gmat prep mock test in which I scored Q42 and V26. I definitely needed a tutor after such a disappointing score. Couple of my friends suggested e-gmat course; After reading the reviews, i immediately subscribed for the course. Initially, I had many doubts in absolute inequalities and probability, but after going through the explanations in e-gmat quant, all my doubts were cleared. After completing both the quant and verbal section of e-gmat, I gave a mock test and my score improved to Q48 and V34, a 14 point improvement. This improvement was within a month.
