This is a quick review of e-gmat course (Verbal and Quant Liveprep) for GMAT preparation. I am yet to take up the actual GMAT but nevertheless thought it would be a good idea to already share my experiences with others.
I initially signed up for only the Verbal Live Prep course but was so amazed with the quality of the content and the workshops that I signed up also for the
Quant Liveprep course and I am very happy with the content and delivery.
Strengths:
-Unique Pre-thinking method for SC, RC and CR not taught in other GMAT preparation course.
-The Video training part is elaborate & clear and very effective at explaining the various methods to approach questions.
-Live workshops platform via adobe connect helps in connecting directly with the presenters/hosts and also with co-participants.
-Ability to view video recordings of Live Workshops in case you miss a session.
-Wide variety of practice questions in the Verbal course.
Weakness:
-The Course content can only be accessed properly via IE. I have always had problems exploring the content with Google Chrome/mozilla.
-Need to high speed internet connection to access the Live Workshops.
-The newly introduced Quant course still has few errors in the questions and practice sets.
-Limited practice questions in the IR section, although I understand that more content is getting added.
My previous GMAT score was 620(Q48 and V28) and plan to take up the real test again in a few weeks time.
I already notice a huge improvement in the GMATprep tests, having scored 700 and 710 in the last two mocks (Before my previous attempt,
I was scoring more in the range of 640 to 650 in the GMATprep).
I am very much pleased with the e-gmat course and happy with the outcome so far.
With the help of e-gmat course, I am very much hopeful of replicating the success from my mocks in the real test.
After a couple of mock GMAT tests on the free GMATPrep software, I found that my area of development was Verbal. I scored 580 with a Q47 V23 in both the mock tests. I tried hard to search for the right online course that will help me increase my verbal scores. That is when GMAT club came to the rescue. I found the e-GMAT verbal online course here and read some great reviews. I signed up for a trial course, and was sure that this was the course for me after trying it for just one day. I bought the course through GMAT Club as it bundled in a few free mock tests. I completed the 80 hours of audio visual classes as well as all their practice questions after each test in a span of 20 days. I immediately saw the difference in the next few mock tests. I gave 8 mock tests and then the final GMAT, exactly a month after signing up for the e-GMAT online course. My official score is 710 with a Q49 and a V38 all thanks to the e-GMAT team and their online material which explains the verbal concepts and makes learning interesting.
I had given my gmat about 5 years back. When i decided to restart my prep, i was looking for a verbal course from which i could quickly revise the basics and then move on into advance concepts.
Verbal online course was very structured and i could concentrate on areas where i needed most time. One of the advantages of Audio visual format is that you know exactly how long you will take to cover a topic. This made my preparation very organized and i could pace based on work schedule.
With regards to the course content, i think it is one of the best out their. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to have a verbal score improvement in a planned mechanism.
I am an non-native english speaker and verbal is my weakest section in GMAT. I started my preparation with Manhattan books (SC, CR, and RC) and completed the materials in three months. I scored an average of V34 in all the manhattan test. With an assumption that i can replicate the same performance in the actual GMAT, i took the exam in March 2014 and was totally upset with the score of 640 (Q49 V28).
This is when i realized that to score high in GMAT one must not only memorize the concepts but also learn how to apply those concepts. while searching for a course that teaches application skills, I read several positive reviews about e-gmat course and success stories of its members. Later i signed up for a free session which was too good. Immediately, i enrolled for Verbal live prep. Without a doubt, this course is best for non-native speakers. It gives lot of importance to application skill. My verbal score improved a lot in practice test (38 average in 6 test). I scheduled my GMAT on second week of December. With the knowledge gained from e-gmat, I am sure that I will be able to break 700 mark. I will recommend e-gmat courses for all non-native english speakers who want to improve their verbal score.
I signed up VLP for the sentence correction and critical reasoning sections. I would recommend this course for a non-native speaker as it helps to understand basic things through its extensive online module course and then discussions during online classes.
E-GMAT can be useful because after each lesson there are quizzes to complete which for that moment makes you completely engrossed in the topic and cover every aspect. The quizzes re-enforces the lessons. Personally, I feel that E_GMAT is more detailed in teaching both SC and CR. It teaches you the application, not just the rules.
For SC, understanding the meaning, then breaking of sentences into clauses and then identifying the errors is a technique no other course teaches you.
CR is again taught by an experienced team with a very simple formula. Understand the argument and pre-think the assumption. I bet 95% of times if you pre-think the assumption, you will get a correct answer.
Key highlights of E-GMAT:
Covers key areas in sentence correction for the GMAT
Different levels to complete before moving to next one
Can access online recording anytime
Attend classes in any batch
New CR quizzes started by them are very good.

Hello Everyone,
I am a non native GMAT aspirant from Engineering background.
Hence, being from engg. background, I had little or no issues with the PS & DS (Maths) part.
Nonetheless, I had serious issues with verbal part(specially sentence correction).
Its a win-win situation for non natives.
Then I took e-GMAT course and thing started to change henceforth. I improved my error finding on SC questions, my overall reading and understanding skill improved significantly.
This is a good course and an excellent one for non natives. The course has been divided onto 3 to 4 main topics -each focussing on various aspects/topics of S0 that even a laymen could understand and improve.

e-GMAT is an excellent source for preparing Verbal section of GMAT. The SC and CR are the best - with explanations to simple as well as complex concepts, and the step process of splitting the long sentence to different clauses and attacking each clause separately is awesome. In addition the audio explanation of OG solutions following e-gmat method is really helpful as it solidifies the SC concepts learned in different sections of the course. I hope e-gmat ADD's few more audio explanations of OG questions.
I will recommend this course to everyone who is preparing for GMAT or otherwise who wants to improve on his or her writing skills.
It's great! I registered for EGMAT Platform 2.0 in the month of September 2014. As I had already been familiar with the earlier version of EGMAT Verbal Online course, I can say that there is a great difference between these two platforms. The current platform (Platform 2.0) includes significant changes in terms of concepts which are now much more comprehensive, detailed and synthesized.
Frankly, various quizzes such as pre-assessment quiz and post-assessment quiz, for each topic / sub-topic, really boosts your confidence. Undoubtedly, the course and its constant learning works as an effective tool for a fair understanding of the concepts.
I am really pleased to be a student of EGMAT and would recommend every GMAT test-taker to be a student of the Verbal Online course - both Sentence Correction techniques as well as Critical Reasoning analysis would be a great guide to build a strong foundation.
After getting a below par score in Verbal on my 1st attempt in GMAT I decided to go for Egmat course after attending a strategy session. Egmat course is a comprehensive guide available for GMAT verbal preparation. Sentence Correction course helped me to focus on meaning rather than to focus only on Grammar. I was weak in Verbal and so took more efforts and also went through the MGMAT guides. The workshops, seminars and strategy session helped me to focus on areas of improvement.
Critical Reasoning course and Sentence Correction course is beautifully compiled and improvements are visible after going through the sessions. I recommend anyone who wants to improve his or her Verbal score to take this course. It will boost your GMAT score for sure.
Thank you Egmat for your contribution in my 730 score.
I had previously enrolled for the Verbal Live package - great content but lacked the personal touch. Upon recommendation of a couple of folks who had taken the GMAT recently, I upgraded to the Verbal Live prep which I found immensely useful. Rajat and Payal really help you with your thought process in a simplistic manner in SC.
The CR course really helped get my thought process right and fixed my CR basics problem.
Waiting to get my hands on the their workshops and polish my SC and CR skills further. Will write in a detailed review post my attempt scheduled for later this month.
