proceeds would amount to the required sum of $50,000.

proceeds would amount to the required $50,000.

I think both statements convey the same meaning clearly. The second statement is more concise.

Kudos Please... If my post helped.

1st Split - A,C,D & B,E. (B,E can be eliminated for subject verb error).

2nd Split - A,C & D. (D can be eliminated for subject verb error).

Between A & C, In A,Comma after "artwork" is unnecessary. Amount to the required sum of is redundant. IMHO "sold" is not the past tense but rather it is the subjunctive.

Kudos Please... If my post helped.

why not A?
I opted for A.

Only diff between A and C is "sum of".

But according to sentence it means products A,B and C are sold with hope that it is sum of 50000?

Between A and C the difference is comma. This is a modifier error. in the hope modifier should be next to organized fair clause. A suggests that in the hope modifies including clause which is incorrect.

has organized a charity fair in which participants sold various products, including jewelry, pottery, and artwork, in the hope that the proceeds would amount to the required sum of $50,000 - the comma before "in the hope" is incorrectly placed.

have organized a charity fair in which participants sold various products, including jewelry, pottery, and artwork, hoping the proceeds would amount to the required $50,000 - Have is wrong here. Has should be used to correctly modify the singular subject "association".

has organized a charity fair in which participants sold various products, including jewelry, pottery, and artwork in the hope that the proceeds would amount to the required $50,000 - This is the correct answer

has organized a charity fair in which participants hoped the proceeds would amount to the required sum of $50,000, which were to be raised by selling various products, including jewelry, pottery, and artwork. - Which were should be which was.

I think in option A, comma after "artwork" is necessary!
Or may be comma doesn't make major difference...

The only major difference between A and C is "sum of"
Is the usage of "sum of" wrong?

There is redundancy error in option A- "amount to" and "sum of" means the same.
Answer choice C resolves this error, hence it is the correct option choice.

Between A and C, I’m not sure whether the comma is unnecessary, but “amount to” and “sum” are redundant, so I picked C.
