Distance in first hour= 86 miles
Distance in second hour it travels 25% less than distance travelled in first hour= (3*86)/4= 64.5
Distance in third hour= 120/3= 40
86+64.5+40= 190.5

Bunuel please tell me if I am wrong
Because if I am correct than no answer seems a match

A train traveled for three hours. In the first hour the train traveled 86 miles, which was 25% farther than it traveled in the second hour. In the third hour the train traveled at a speed of 120 miles per hour for 20 minutes. What is the total distance that the train traveled?

A. 190.6.
B. 194.8.
C. 198.2.

E. 212.8.

distance in 1st leg = 86 miles
distance in 2nd leg = 86/1.25 ; 68.8 miles
distance in 3rd leg = 120*20/60 ; 40 miles
total ; 86+68.8+40 ; 194.8 miles

Distance travelled in first hour = 86
Distance travelled in second hour = (125/100)*X= 86
= 68.8
Distance travelled in the third hour = (120/60)*20 = 40
Total Distance = 86+68.8+40 = 194.8(option B)

A train traveled for three hours. In the first hour the train traveled 86 miles, which was 25% farther than it traveled in the second hour. In the third hour the train traveled at a speed of 120 miles per hour for 20 minutes. What is the total distance that the train traveled?

A. 190.6.
B. 194.8.
C. 198.2.
D. 204.5.
E. 212.8.

In the second hour, the train traveled 86/1.25 = 68.8 miles.

In the third hour, the train traveled 120 x 1/3 = 40 miles.

The total distance traveled was 86 + 68.8 + 40 = 194.8 miles.

Answer: B

The question says that the train traveled for 120mph for 20 minutes in the third hour. What about the rest of the 40 minutes of the third hour? Shouldn't the answer be > 194.8?
