I have been lurking and browsing this forum, but I will now get more involved in order to rock the GMAT once and for all.
Background:
Took the Kaplan in person course. First CAT was 560, subsequent ones ranged from 630-650.
My target score is 650, so I took the official GMAT for the first time and scored a 570 (44Q, 25V, and 2IR)
This did not sit well with me, so I reviewed strategies in the
Manhattan Prep books and took more full length practice CATs via Kaplan, scoring still 630-650.
I took the GMAT a second time and scored 480 (I forget the breakdown because I cancelled my scores).
This is when I switched my focus and reviewed hundreds of problems in the Official GMAT 2017 books in the past month. I made sure to understand why I got certain problems wrong. I thought I had a better grasp and felt more comfortable with official GMAT questions, so I took the exam again.
I took the GMAT a third time and scored a 560 (43Q, 25V, and 7IR).
It is quite frustrating that my official scores have not been reflecting my studies. My verbal has been my strength in all practice CATs, so it is also perplexing that I am consistently scoring lower in verbal on the real exam.
Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!
