^ D ^

but beyondinfifnity,

I think you forgot to add the possessive 's in the answer choices. The original question has the 's in all choices. Anyway, it is D.

A is not ||.

(A) After crude oil, natural gas is the United States second biggest fuel source and supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.

is & supplied ?? :no

(A) After crude oil, natural gas is the United States second biggest fuel source and supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.
--> we need "is supplied" for A to be correct!
(B) Natural gas, after crude oil the United States second biggest fuel source, supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.
---> we need "is supplied" for B to be correct --> out

(C) Being supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America, natural gas, the United States second biggest fuel source after crude oil.
--->"being" ---> avoid right away

(D) Natural gas, the United States’ second biggest fuel source after crude oil, is supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.
--> fine!

(E) Natural gas is supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America
---> part of original meaning disappears --> out

D it is.

It's D.

(D) Natural gas, the United States’ second biggest fuel source after crude oil, is supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.

Reasons stated in the previous posts.

D is korrekt!

A misses out because of missing 'is', as Laxi mentioned...

Even D is using "is" & "supplied". I think the reason is as pointed out by laxie

In D, we have a passive construction of "is supplied"and it is correct. But, in A it is not parallel.

The two choices are different in this respect :!: :!:

D is the natural choice as in 'A' verb 'is' is missing :)

and works in a pair --what is before and should also be present after it

natural gas is the United States second biggest fuel source and " 'is' is missing in A" supplied almost exclusively from reserves in North America.
