• Nationality: Indian male
• Age: 27 years
• Work experience: 6 years
• Function: Investment Banking (2 promotions in last 4 years)
• Other academics: CFA all levels cleared
• Other courses: Company Secretary (Legal) Level 1 (Secured All India Rank 13). However, didn’t go ahead with it because liked Finance more
• Graduation: 89%, 12th: 84%; 10th: 85%
• Extracurricular: Football (City and District Level for School), Football Freestyle, Community Pranic Healing
• Target: Cornell, Simon, USC Marshall, Oxford, HEC Paris

Q1) Request a profile evaluation and chances of getting into my target schools?
Q2) How important is sounding out the “social impact” in the essays?

HiVIVA1060, You have a solid background in finance/IB, this is what you should leverage most! CFA will boost confidence in your academics/GMAT. You have a decent shot at your school list, Cornell and HEC Paris will be the stretch, USC and Oxford are target with slight stretch and Simon is safe.
Writing about Social Impact is only valuable if it resonates with you, your actions and goals. If it isn’t, then adcoms can see through that. Focus on what you are passionate about and speak directly to why now is the time to get an MBA.

Hi Mraax, Thanks for sharing - 4 promotions in 5 years is great... and still in this sector post-COVID? that says a lot.
The great thing about Business Analytics is that is applicable to almost any sector.
Career options - move up to analyst within an MNC; consulting in a firm that is specific to hospitality; or take the management route - you know analytics and how to read the reports, now use the MBA knowledge to be able to make decisions and lead a team. Cornell is well know for hospitality and can resonate with their adcom.
