I want to do MBA in USA. What are the MBA programs I should consider applying in Round 1 in which I would have a decent chance of getting in.

• What more I can do to strengthen my profile so that my chances of making to Top 20 schools increase?

Thanks for your time.

Hi SaiEshwar3001

Thanks for sharing your profile!
My name is Shimri Winters, I head the strategy team here at ARINGO
I am a London Business School graduate and used to interview candidates for the school for 7 years.

You seem to be a very experienced professional with a good GPA and GMAT. but I am missing so many other details.

From what I can see:
Academics – one of the top colleges, and your GPA seems good (I wonder what place you were in class? Top 20%?)

Work Experience – 5.5 years, 4 of which at Deloitte. Sounds great! although I need to know further what you do at Deloitte? Did you have any promotions do you manage any people? Do you have any international experience?

Extracurricular activities – Anything on this front? Hobbies? Volunteering?

GMAT– 760 is a great score. Well done

Career goals – What are you looking for? why do you want to do an MBA. where do you see yourself at in 5-10 years?

School wish list - there are so many good schools out there and I am missing all the above info to give you a better chances estimation and point you to schools that interest you. BUT, if you have some extracurricular activities, had ~2 promotions in the last 5 years, and managed someone, somewhere 😊 you will probably have a high chance of a scholarship at any top 20 MBA program. which? naturally, your chances are higher at schools ranked 15-20 vs. schools that are ranked 1-5 (so for example, UNC, Emory, Tepper, Mccombs chances are higher than Chicago or Wharton)
What programs are on your list????

All in all,
You have a solid business profile and great GMAT. You can get into any top 20 MBA program with some kick-ass applications 😊

Happy to help further with a detailed review and perhaps work together on some amazing apps. If interested, please send me an email with your CV, GMAT slip (or split between Q and V) answers to all the above and we can take it from there?
As always, I can be reached at [email protected]

GOOD LUCK!

Which intake is the best best to get admit int US universities with maximum scholarship? I am from India. I have not given GMAT exam exam yet. I am currently getting around 650 score. I want to ask that which month should i keep as deadline to get my scores in my hand. I have not prepared any thing like SOP/LORs. These things would surely take a lot of time. Things like managing VISA and loans would also take a lot of time. I don’t even know how to select a list of colleges as per my interests. I am now very much troubled and i cannot focus on my study. Any help would be very much appreciated. I am from a economically weaker section. Can somebody please help me handle these things? I can do preparation for my scores on my own. You just need to guide and help me on all these extra stuffs. I want to get admitted into good US universities with maximum scholarship as soon as possible. Please help me ....please....please :please: :please:

The answer is simple:
In theory, the earlier you apply the better. B-U-T, in practicality, only apply when you are ready with the best possible applications.
Meaning => R2 is better than R1 for ALL the schools if you can apply in R2 with a better GMAT score, a stronger application etc.

Think of it as a "one shot" application. if you are not 100% happy, don't apply and wait for the next round, or even next year and apply when you have maximized your chances
GOOD LUCK!

Hi there, could anyone pls share sample GMAT or TOEFL waiver request? Thank you!!
Hi,
Shimri from ARINGO here:
Although I won't be sharing a GMAT waiver request example (as these are written according to the specific backgrounds and circumstances of the applicants) I will share some tips on what we have seen this round that worked when applying for GMAT Waivers (so far, this year, ARINGO has helped applicants apply for GMAT waivers at: MIT, Ross, Darden, NYU, Cornell Tech, Emory, Mccombs, Kelley, UNC and some others)
1. Emphasize your academics
2. Specifically talk about your quantitative analytical ability and English skills (the two GMAT parts)
3. Mention how COVID has changed your life (academic plans, professional career, extracurricular activities)
4. Mention how busy you are with COVID related matters which is preventing you from studying properly for the GMAT (for example: "Due to COVID, I am now working 150% of the time to support SMEs...")
5. If you have any real reasons for not taking the GMAT, mention them (remember, you can take an online GMAT, so the fact the test centers are closed, might not be a strong enough reason, but having COVID or not having stable internet might help to draw the picture)

Hope the above helps!
Good luck

Hi Ashish,

Thanks for sharing your profile and MBA aspirations.

My name is Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO.

You have a very interesting profile! From what I can see:

Academics – good GPA and top 10 percentile- Superb!

GMAT - Well, without a GMAT everything will be speculative. But if you are able to achieve 730 it will be a pretty good score!

Work Experience –You have a very different experience which is good! Though it is slightly on the higher side of the average work exp., you need to make an impactful resume quantifying the results, leadership skills, etc. Also, do include your UCLA stint as it will add international exposure to your profile.

Extracurricular activities/Volunteer Work – Interesting hobbies 😊. Any volunteering work?

Schools: The school list depends on your GMAT score and career goals. Your profile is fine for an MBA but why MBA (and why now?) needs to be explained well.

All in all, sounds like you have a good profile! If you send me your CV and other info on [email protected] once you are done with your GMAT, I would love to connect you with our CEO who will be happy to help further with a detailed review and perhaps work together on some amazing apps.

All the best. :)

Hi NJ97,

Thanks for sharing your profile and aspirations.

My name is Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO.

Well, you have slightly higher experience for MSF and lower for an MBA. As you have a good GMAT score, we suggest gaining a few more years of experience and apply for an MBA. During this period work toward enhancing your profile by:
a) Gaining promotions (avoid job shifts)
b) Projects that can give you international exposure
c) Preparing an impactful resume by quantifying your work well
d) Continue volunteering work, etc.
e) Certifications in sync with your career goals

It’s good that you are starting early! Now make the most of it. 😊

All the best. :)

Hi ,

Could you please evaluate my profile.

About Me:

Age - 24
GMAT : 730 (Q-50, V-40, IR-8, AWA- Haven't received score yet)
Nationality: Indian
Gender : Male
Undergrad: 9.01/10 - Anna University (1 of the top 10 universities in India) - Top 1% of graduating class - Gold medalist + received partial merit scholarships.
12th : 97.17%
10th : 96.6 %
Work : Currently working as Senior Analyst in a top US MNC (Fortune 100) (3+ years) - 1 Promotion so far. (May not get another one by the time I apply as that is the norm here)
People managed : Max. 4 people for a brief period of time. Currently managing only 1 person.
Overall Work Experience : Planning to apply R2 this year or R1/R2 next year based on your feedback. So, work experience will accumulate depending on that.
Extracurriculars & Leadership positions : Have a bunch from college and work. Also worked with an NGO during college.

Any tips or suggestions would be very much appreciated, but I have a few specific questions into which I would love some insight as well:
1. Which US B-schools should I target?
2. Any advantage with UK/European B-Schools in terms of scholarships ?
3. Is my profile good enough to get decent scholarships in the Top 20 US b-schools?
4. What more can I do to strengthen my profile so that my chances of making to Top 20 schools increase?
5. What should I improve to increase my chances of scholarships in these schools ?
6. Is my GMAT score okay or should I retake the GMAT again to get an even higher score ?
7. When should I apply - R1 vs R2 ?

Thank you for your time.
