Do these Universities accept only 2.5 years of experience?
it is on the lower end of WE, but with consulting you answer their question about having enough exposure to business to be able to apply the lessons from class and contribute to discussions

Thanks, Sajjad1994,

Hi @Khushi0805,

Your profile is quite strong—solid academics, impressive professional experience, and meaningful extracurricular involvement. That said, for schools like HEC and LBS, where the average GMAT scores are typically higher, I would recommend retaking the GMAT if you’re consistently scoring around 655 in mocks. Pushing your score closer to the 700 mark could significantly strengthen your application.

Since Round 1 and Round 2 have relatively similar acceptance rates at HEC and INSEAD, taking a bit more time to improve your GMAT score and applying in Round 2 could be a strategic move.

That being said, admissions aren’t just about the GMAT. I recently worked with an Indian male consultant who was admitted to INSEAD off the waitlist with a 635, so it’s definitely possible with a lower score.

Bottom line: if you believe you can improve your GMAT with 1-2 more attempts, go for it. Even if it means applying in R2, the potential payoff is worth it.

Once your GMAT is maximised, happy to do for you a profile assessment, and even perhaps work together in creating some stellar apps. I am always on shimriw@ARINGO.com
Good luck—your profile has a lot of potential!
Hey! Thank you for clarity! This helps a lot! Sorry but last question, should I start working on my application on the side? Or just focus on getting the score first and work on application later

Is a 2-year MIM better for people with no work experience straight out of undergrad, or are 1-year and 2-year MIMs treated equally from an employability point of view?

Hi namanmanwani
A 2-year MiM is generally better for students with no work experience straight out of undergrad as it offers key advantages like the opportunity for internships, which are crucial for building a strong resume, especially when entering the job market for the first time. The longer duration also allows for deeper networking and more time to explore and refine career goals.

From an employer’s perspective, 2-year graduates often have better employability due to the added internship experience and better preparation. For fresh graduates, the 2-year path is typically safer and more advantageous.
