Radhika46 hi,
My name is Shimri Winters from ARINGO MBA Admissions Consulting
Thanks for sending us your profile. unfortunately, we are missing so much information that it is hard to estimate your chances. specifically, I would like to know:

Work experience - where, what, for how long, how many promotions, leadership experiences, international exposure, client interaction, etc
Academics - Where did you study? what did you specialize in? Your GPA sounds low. what's your place in class? Were you involved in student-led activities? other info?
Extra Curricular activities- hoobies? volunteering?
Other - Family, origin, gender, special interests, special story, etc.

Once you send us all this info we can do a profile analysis. feel free to share it here or send it to me all over email at [email protected]
GOOD LUCK!

Hi whomstmd,

Thanks for sharing your details and MBA aspirations. I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO.

About your profile:
  • Academics: Your GPA seems fine and 710 is a good score for most MBA programs.
  • Work experience: 7 years of experience, especially on a top-performing team, is impressive. Leading a new division demonstrates strong leadership potential.
  • Extracurricular activities: Getting involved in organizing a charity event showcases your leadership, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven passion for Tech: Your childhood interest in tech, building a tool with daily users, and studying computer science all demonstrate a strong foundation for a career shift into tech PM.
  • Dual Citizenship (Canada + Southeast Asia): This adds diversity to your application.
Areas for Improvement:
  • GMAT retake (Optional): If you're confident you can improve your score by studying new materials for focus, a retake could be beneficial, especially for reaching schools like Columbia, NYU, and Yale. However, a 710 is a fine score too.
  • GPA: We would like to know your class percentile and college details.
  • Professional Experience: We would like to know more about your promotions, the impact of your work, etc.
Recommendations:
  • Target Schools:
    1. Canada: UofT Rotman & Western Ivey are good choices.
    2. USA: Out of Columbia, NYU, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell, select 2-3 schools that best fit your profile and career goals. Consider schools with strong alumni networks in the tech industry or known for their tech PM programs.
    3. Europe: Consider narrowing down to 1-2 schools in Europe.
Focus on your career goals: In your application essays, clearly articulate your passion for tech and how your MBA will help you transition into a tech PM role. Highlight relevant skills and experiences from your current role that would be valuable for a PM position.

Highlight your leadership skills: Quantify the impact of your past and current leadership roles in your extracurricular activities.

Overall, your profile is strong for an MBA application. If you can share the above details along with your CV with me at [email protected], I would love to connect you with our CEO and work on some amazing applications.

All the best :)

Hi SMQazi
I am Priyanka from ARINGO. Speaking about your chances at Stanford's MSx program, your profile looks extremely competitive. The program is specifically designed for mid-career professionals like you who are looking for a career boost. The minimum work experience required is 8 years and you stand well above that. Plus, a 161 on the EA is strong too.

Your experience in consulting and technology, along with your successful projects, that you mentioned shows that you can handle difficult business situations. Your work in helping others along with your love for music also shows that you are a well-rounded person.

Is there any specific reason for wanting to pursue the MSx program? What are your further career aspirations and how do you think it will align with an MSx at Stanford? I see a lot of leadership skills and impact generated at your work, make sure to highlight it properly to the adcoms.

Some important skills that you should demonstrate to the adcoms in your application includes, international exposure, leadership skills, impact generated at work place, ability to manage complex business problems, teamwork and your will to help others and give it back to the society. This will help you enhance your chances of admission.

Hey everyone. I was wondering if I could get some insights on my profile and my chances for admission into the MiM program at LBS. I’m a young woman from Pakistan, entering my fourth and final year of undergrad. My cgpa is currently 3.66/4 and I’ve been on the Dean’s List for the past two years. My degree is a joint one: BSc Sociology-Anthropology (Hons) from LUMS. It is the best private university in Pakistan. In fact, the only couple of individuals who have gone to LBS in the past are either from LUMS or one other university (IBA). I have numerous internships, my first one was as an HR intern at an IT Consulting company with offices abroad as well. My second one was at KIKO Milano (an Italian makeup company) where I worked as a marketing intern. I have also worked at a foreign startup in Belgium as a marketing intern. For the past 3-4 months I am working as a part time Marketing Specialist at a startup based in England. I have served as a teaching assistant at my university, and have now been selected as a career peer tutor at my university’s career services office. Over the summer I also conducted a directed research project under supervision of one of our professors. I’ve done multiple courses/ certifications such as the McKinsey Forward Program, Foundations of Project Management by the PMI, and the Inside LVMH Certificate by LVMH group. I’m aiming for R1 admissions. However, GMAT is where I struggle. Realistically speaking, I may not be able to score above a 605 on the Focus. Should I still apply? I’m aware these universities are pretty selective and obviously GMAT score holds a lot of weightage. Thanks.

Please review my profile:

Native: Canadian
GMAT: 675 FE score (Planning for a retake- mock score 695-705)
GPA- 3.5 (Is this something I should be worried about?)
Target schools- M7

Work experience: 5 years
Work profile: 3 years at a leading bank, multiple promotions, currently I manage the entire loan department of my region.
2 years at another bank where I had 1 promotion. Can show impact at work place.

EC: on weekend I teach students about finances. Nothing course related but more to manage finances as you grow along. I have also had multiple volunteer services during Covid. Apart from that I am a swimmer, a few intercollege tournaments. I am also planning to start learning French. I know how to play 2 musical instruments.

For LOR, I plan to ask one of my clients and one my supervisor

My short term goal is to continue in the banking sector. For my long term goal I am not very sure. My reason for an MBA is that I feel saturated and I think that with an MBA I can move into more responsible and high paying jobs within the industry.

Hey IsaBella1994
I am Priyanka, Client Manager at ARINGO. Speaking about your chances, a 675 FE score is decent but like you have mentioned, you are planning for a retake, a 695 or above would strengthen your chances at M7. GPA is slightly on the lower end and your strong GMAT score will compensate for it. With 5 years of experience, your promotions and impact at workplace add value to your application. It will also be crucial to demonstrate your leadership skills too.

Your ECs look impressive, also highlighting your desire to learn new languages is also something that adds diversity to your profile. I would recommend adding a few safe schools apart from some M7 schools to your list.

I got into Darden with a 50k scholarship, I am trying to decide my strategy for R2, can you share some advice on how to pick? In my head Darden, Duke , Tuck, Ross seem all comparative, I am wondering if I should now aim for all ambitious schools in R2 like M7, or if I should still do 1 or two of Duke, Ross, Tuck for R2. I am looking to get into consulting post MBA, from an Oil and gas background with 5 years of work-ex

Hey isha_k
Congratulations on making it into Darden, and a $50K scholarship looks impressive! It clearly demonstrates that you are moving ahead on the right track.

Now, since you aim to transition to consulting, it’s crucial to prioritize schools with strong consulting recruitment records. Darden is often known for its case-based curriculum, which aligns really well with consulting skills.

I agree that Darden, Duke, Tuck, and Ross offer relatively similar opportunities when it comes to consulting. Now with a Darden admit along with scholarship, I think you can focus on other schools which can eventually elevate your chances for top consulting firms. Tuck and Ross are almost at par with Darden when we talk about placements.

Given your strong profile, you can think about adding one or two M7 schools in R2. Wharton, Booth, Kellogg, and Sloan have strong consulting pipelines and more global reach, which can be of great benefit. With Darden already in hand, you can afford to aim high.

Hi abrakadabra09
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, I can see a combination of technical expertise and meaningful social impact, which can make your profile stand out amidst the pool of applicants. Your ECs, including coordinating social welfare initiatives and organizing events for your city’s queer collective, highlights leadership and a commitment to creating positive change.

A 705+ FE score would greatly strengthen your chances. I am just concerned about your work experience, as 2 years falls below average for top schools. Focus on highlighting your leadership roles at work or initiating projects that align with your post-MBA goals in tech PM or consulting. Schools like Tepper, Darden, Ross, and Anderson could be great fits, given their strong tech and consulting focus. With a compelling personal story and clear goals, you can also consider Sloan or Haas.

What appeals to me for Said Business school is mainly the Oxford Experience and Strong Community network of the University.
What other colleges can i try for in R2. I am planning to retake GMAT before R3 deadlines to push for a stronger score.

My main motivation is to get a good learning experience and exposure at a world class institution. I have demonstrated Good Problem Solving Capabilities in my Job and Have also recently received awards for my work in my company.

Your entrepreneurial initiative with the mental health website adds a unique and personal dimension to your story, showcasing your resilience and drive to make a meaningful impact.
