NitinGMAT19
Hello All,
I have received admission to the Full-time MBA programs from:
1) Boston Univ. Questrom with 90% scholarship in MBA+ MSDT program
2) Maryland Smith with Graduate Assistantship in MBA program
Considering the living cost difference, Maryland Smith will cost me about $10k extra and I will have to devote 10 hours/week to the G.Assistantship.
I have about 14 years of work experience so far with an MS in Computer Science from the USA and 6 years of software engineer work experience in USA. For the last 8 years, I have had Entrepreneurial family business experience in India.
My post-MBA goal is to work as a tech. Product Manager in big tech and Tech. Entrepreneurship in the long run.
I feel that Maryland is a good brand name but it is isolated and Washington DC jobs are more meant for US citizens. The one plus is the new Amazon HQ2 in Virginia.
Boston on the other hand is known for medical and biotech companies with a decent presence of big techs. But in Boston, you are competing with other B-schools such as MIT and Harvard.
Any advice, input, or insights? Also, considering my goals which location and school would you suggest?
Thanks in advance!
Hello
NitinGMAT19,
This isn't a very straightforward one. However, Boston does have a serious location advantage considering your goals. Besides, instead of looking at it as competing with Harvard or MIT, you could also see this as an opportunity to build some solid networks.
All the best!
