This question is for Emory applicants/admits in particular but I'm also interested in how it applies to other schools: how would you rate or describe the level of personal engagement or outreach from the admissions team?

To clarify, the question is how much did we engage with the admissions team throughout the process? Is this pre- or post- application or both? Also, are you interested if we (applicants) initiated the engagement versus whether the admissions team did?

I'm interested in how the admissions teams kept candidates and admits engaged throughout the process. For example, the only communications I received from Emory were the email indicating that they received my application and my admissions decision. This may be because I did my interview during the open period before my application. I'm wondering if anyone had a more personal/engaged experience and how that compares to other schools or programs.

I have a mixed experience. I have places where, to this day, I have not received an application confirmation from. Then, I have others (like Tuck) that I received many emails from throughout the process updating me regarding my application's processing. I think applying through the Consortium made it hard for the schools as they have to enter our applications into their internal systems once they're forwarded. I suspect our counterparts who applied directly to the programs have different experiences.

In your situation, I do think that completing the application initiated interview before is what may have limited your communication. I know that programs caution against it but I prefer to apply and then be invited to interview versus doing it that way (to avoid radio silence for months).

Looks like UCLA will interview and decide on admissions in time for the Round 1 Dec. 15th decision date, instead of the previously mentioned early-January timeframe...

Anyone else also received an interview invite with the above info? Wondering if they were concerned about missing out Consortium candidates to other schools, all of which had mid-December decision dates!

My roommate applied to Anderson through Consortium R1 (I pushed to R2) and received the same info that you did. I'm 90% certain that they won't announce fellowships until March when they get R2 in also. Over the last couple years, Anderson has had Consortium R1 applicants interview in early Jan, and then provide admissions/fellowship decisions in March for both Consortium rounds at the same time.

I can see 2 reasons why Anderson is announcing Consortium R1 admissions decisions this year with the rest of the R1 pool:
1) They received very few Consortium R1 applications and had the bandwidth to make decisions for those applicants despite receiving those applications later than they received the traditional applications.
2) They received a healthy amount of Consortium R1 applications and want to make a few fellowship decisions, so as not to miss out on certain applicants (to your point above, although I think this is the unlikely scenario).

Either way, best of luck! Don't stress the interview. Pretty certain a current 2nd year student will interview you. Those in the Anderson community I have met have been really down to earth.

One hour to go and on the east cost: no call for me either.

I just got an interview invitation for Stern today, but I applied R1 and the only interview dates they have available are on the 21st and in January, much later than the Dec 15th decision date for R1. Is NYU pushing Consortium applications to later rounds? Anyone else having this issue?

I ended up scheduling my interview w/ NYU Stern for February.

Got into Yale! Quite a roller coaster of a day today. Was expecting a call all day but nothing came. I saw the decision on the application portal.

I had a similar scenario with Emory where I also got in but did not get a call. So it looks like the schools don't call every admitted student. So not getting a call does not mean the end of the road.

I don't think they are going to send anymore invites. Someone mentioned they planned to release decisions by 12/15 so I guess those of us still waiting are either going to get a ding or wait list and be considered along with the R2 applicants.

I think all the 1st round interviews for Consortium candidates at Anderson had to happen by Dec 12, so technically they could still send out invites, but most likely they will push people to Round 2 or send final notifications on the 15th...

They had the option of conducting an on-campus interview on the 15th when I went to sign up, off-campus interviews need to be completed by the 12th. My interviewer said that they were unsure what the timeline was for Consortium applicants since they weren't originally planning on conducting the interviews until after break, but decided to move it up this year. Fingers crossed we hear soon!

Yeah I heard from them last night. I was freaking out too much to comprehend whether I got the fellowship or not, but the Adcom did tell me I got full tuition. I'm not sure if that was a fellowship offer though as I didn't list Darden as my #1. Good luck to everyone this week!
