Same here. I was also expecting a deny today. I was surprised to see a waitlist and an invitation for a video interview.
I think this is probably bschools hedging to avoid the risk of coronavirus.

I got a waitlist today myself after completely BOMBING my video interview. I love the ideas and principles behind Haas. But I got into Wharton so I will likely be matriculating there.

Big congrats nerdyrunner on getting into Wharton! Enjoy Philly.
My one candidate who also felt he bombed the Haas video interview also got in. He was in a room near the door and the mailman was apparently extremely aggressive and persistent which ended up being both noisy and distracting. Have this be a cautionary tale for you R3 applicants who end up doing the video interview (he didn't pick this, it was all that was available.) I advised him to write admissions explaining the situation, to be proactive about what happened. They said it was unlikely to have a huge impact on his candidacy.
