they do (probably late in the day Friday or the Monday after) - just an email something like "your application status has changed" then you logon and check it and it's something like, we're sorry but unfortunately, something about many qualified candidates. not the best feeling but yeah, there's some finality to it.

I also got an invite this afternoon! No email, though. My application was updated when I logged in and I was able to schedule an interview through there. I received a confirmation for the interview afterwards. Good luck everybody!

Frankly these type of questions are not going to help anyone! Additionally, unless people from Booth adcom are active on GC or online, only they will be able to provide you the numbers. But then again how are the numbers going to help you ?
