Even I put them earlier like 2 weeks before deadline and got interviewed on 2 october. Plus I am a reapplicant and an international one. Would you mind sharing if you are an international applicant or domestic

Guys, I’ve been waitlisted without interview. Any idea of the chances of conversion and what should I do to increase my chances?

Interesting, I don't see anything that screams red flag. I did notice that you were also waitlisted at Simon. It might be worth reaching out to the admissions team at either school and asking for potential feedback? Maybe, just maybe, they believe someone with 9 years of experience is better suited for an executive MBA?

I did try to get feedbacks from adcoms but they say they do not provide individual feedback. Suitability for an exec mba could definitely be one of the reasons as one of the schools offered me a seat in Professional part time mba.

I had applied for two years but got in to one year program as adcom thought i am right fit for one year program and also helps to maximize my ROI

Deciding which school to pursue. I work at AmerisourceBergen, a pharmaceutical distributor, in their Finance & Pricing Operations. I am looking to obtain my MBA so that I can be on an accelerated management track.

Looking at the class profiles, it looks like higher caliber people enrolls at UTD (average GMAT is 622 at UTD vs. 613 at SMU). On USNews, Full-Time MBA ranking is #40 at UTD and #48 at SMU. Does anyone know what the Part-Time MBA rankings at each school are (according to USNews)? I don't have paid access to view these part-time rankings on USNews.

Even though the stats seem to favor UTD, I hear SMU is still just better?

Thoughts? I am really trying to justify spending 2x the tuition amount at a similarly ranked business school.

Hi everyone! New on here. My case is a bit peculiar and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion or thoughts. I currently live in Dallas on an L2 visa which allows me to study & work so I am more or less regarded as a domestic applicant as I live here already. Before I moved here, I had 3 years work experience with PWC Nigeria. My GRE score is 315. Bachelors in Accounting, I have recently been invited to interview with SMU Cox's adcom and 1) any ideas on how to prepare will be welcome. 2) I am torn between doing the one year (fast track) MBA and the two year MBA. Sigh! I do not want to be out of the labour market for long and I was thinking 1 year would not be a bad idea, also that means I will be missing out on the internship (although I am able to work here anyways). Are there any other significant benefits that the 2 year program has over the 1 year program? Helppp [#permalink]

I can help you with this.I am on L1 but since my project completed planning to apply for F1.In your case since your on L2 make sure that while in your MBA program your spouse remains physically in usa so that u dont lose status of L2.Else you might have to apply for change of status.Even if that happens chances are odd that L2 to F1 stamping will happen easily atleast not in India very high chances of cancellation.so u might be in a financial mess because without F1 stamp u might not be allowed for an OPT.Eventually you csnt work.

Now in terms of 1 year to 2 year program since u have work experience in usa internship is primarily to create that exp and tell a strong story to the the employers since u have been already working so u can go without a internship as long as your are not switching careers in.which you have no experience.
L2 will be attractive to your employer since u will fall on to case where no separate sponsorship needs to be provided by the employer. So u can enjoy the benefits wont be a mess if you take up 1 year program if
1.you are not career switching in to a new year
2.Can continue to stay in L2 for more than 3 years

You will go through same curriculum and standards as a 2 year program wont miss out on anything expect internship and you wont have time to study extensively with electives in other functional areas-example since my goal is in tech leadership and not in finance i will narrow down my electives to leadership subjects you wont have time to study extensively on other functional areas such as finance other than a introduction course

Thank you for this, quite helpful. Myself and my spouse will be here for a couple of years so I may not be needing the change of status. Still I'm beginning to consider doing the two-year mba instead. I am coming from a risk consulting background (where I provided accounting advisory services and internal audit for clients) and my proposed major concentration is strategy & entrepreneurship (not an entirely different career but still relatively different). Is it okay to ask the adcom interviewer which of the two MBA programs they recommend given my background and status? Or do you think that would make me come across as indecisive? Wishing you the best with the status change and all.
