Hello. Would you suggest that I send an email to the university informing them of a top performance award I’ve received this week? For context, I work at a Fortune 500 company and was one of eight employees selected for a ’Best Performer’ award out of 400 in my department.
It’s not as big of a deal as a promotion which definitely warrants an email or update but I’m just wondering where they would file it under? Is it an award is a Bullet on your résumé? That’s just a bit of something they may struggle with what to do.
However, I think it will not hurt to do that.
I think if you send a nice message saying dear XYZ I’m sorry to distract you the busy time but I am super excited to share that I receive a Company X performance award And I was Wondering if it would be appropriate to add it to my application file. I worked pretty hard on this one and I wouldn’t trouble you if it wasn’t a big enough deal since only eight employees receive this award each year. It comes with a nice bonus as well.
I would stay on the shorter side. Would also try to make it more personable and include a picture of you receiving it (maybe you can stage one holding it if you don’t have a picture😇) make a bigger deal
