Hello folks,
I have some doubt regarding the GMAT score requirements. HEC website states the below:

We strongly encourage our candidates to submit a GMAT with balanced scores above 60% for the quantitative and verbal sections. On GMAT Focus, this equates to a performance in the 83% percentile under each format.

I have a GMAT FE 675 (Q86 DI84 V80). I do not meet the percentile requirement (83%) for Verbal. Is there no chance of consideration if I do not meet this criteria or is there some wiggle room?

Even if your verbal score is lower than recommended, there’s still a chance your application could be considered. Adcoms look at the overall picture of your application. Make sure to highlight any achievements or experiences in your essays that show your skills and readiness for the program. Personal stories can really help your application stand out!

Folks preparing their HEC Paris applications, I made a post here with guidelines and best-practices on how to approach the HEC essays.

Also check out here for insights/ tips from HEC AdCom head Sara Vanos, and here for insights from Neeraj, our mentee who recently received his HEC admit and will be joining the Jan'25 intake.

Hope this helps some :)

Regards,
Arvind

Hey @shatanik08
They definitely do consider your profile, a friend of mine applied in R2 with 685 and V80 who was also hesitant after reading this on website but received an interview call just yesterday.
When did he apply? I applied on the last date and did not get an invite yet. :/

Hi, admitted candidate from R1 here. I chose something work-related- something I was comfortable talking about, and something on which I could handle cross-questioning. It does not necessarily have to be work or projects, but keep the topic engaging, interactive, and less content-heavy in the slides. Utilize the time fully, and do try and make it interesting for the interviewers. Also do share the presentation with interviewers in advance. All the best!

Hi everyone,
I’m excited to share that I’ve received pre-selection in Round 2 of the application process for the HEC Paris MBA program. Has anyone else received the same news?
If so, how are you preparing for the interview round? After going through such a thorough application process, I’m finding it challenging to come up with fresh ideas for the presentation. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi guys
Its been more than 2 weeks since the R2 deadline. Is it fair to assume you are not moving forward in case you haven’t received any communication yet?
