There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I am current applicant of HKUST MBA program and applying the deadline. As per the online portal, online references must be submitted by application deadline i.e. 15 January, 2020.
However, according to the deadline reminder letter from HKUST, the following is mentioned,
"You can log into your application account and check the status of the references in the relevant section. You should get both references ready latest within one week after the application deadline."
Does this mean that my recommender can submit their references by 22nd January instead of 15th January, which is the application deadline
That’s how I would read it too. I don’t think they mean the LORs are due a week early. If you want to be 100% sure, you can clarify with AdCom. It is not uncommon to have some leniency towards the recommenders but as a rule the application is usually due with all of its components
I have one more query regarding the HKUST application. Can you shed light on the purpose of this essay question "3. How do you plan to finance your MBA? (500 words)*"
Is it an essay to indirectly put up your candidature for any scholarship or we should simply mention our financing plan? I dont think this questions requires utilization of its full 500 words
I applied in round1 myself. I interviewed with them in November and I’m yet to receive a final decision. I’d be happy to do a call to clear any confusion you might have with regard to the application. I hope that’ll help you with the process a little.
I am in the process of submitting MBA application form. While making the payment the link got timed out. Currently, the submit button is disabled. Also, I am not able to make the payment again.
I am unable to proceed and tomorrow is the last day to submit app. I have mailed to applymba@ust.hk as well.
The payment tab shows below message - Your submitted application will only be processed after the application fee is settled.
Has everyone received this message or I have only received the message because the payment timed out in between.
Same thing happened with me, wait for some time. you will get an email confirmation and submit link will get activated.

Is there a platform for the accepted candidates? I recently got accepted but trying to think hard given the political unrest and the virus situation. Anyone who’s sailing the same boat as me?

There is a link in the offer email that leads to a 'Website for New Students' but there's nothing substantial on there at the moment.
I am not very concerned about the virus situation as this sort of thing happens every few years and runs its course. I am, however, very concerned at what will happen after the virus runs its course. I have no doubt that the political unrest will start again, which will drive the economy further into recession.
