this year again it appears entire session at isb will be online , so if people are interested for just getting jobs then isb is best option but if people wants full mba experience then isb online classes is not good option , foreign b school has advantage there as they will get 80 -90 percentage vaccination done by august

imo, it makes sense from ISB perspective to waitlist because in a way they are encouraging you to apply next year. they have given a powerful drug to candidates named HOPE

nope it is more of immediate business decision , last year isb had to leave 200 seats vaccant so this year they are not taking any risk , they learned their lesson.

also going by slow vaccination rate (only 4% of whole population indian population have got atleast single dose in 3 months) and high covid case load due to no restrictions , it is likely that things wont be offline atleast till year end

i will go for my usa admit even if isb pulls me out of waitlist to give admit as in usa classes will happen on campus , isb mba is more like online mba now

just a disadvantage of getting born in country with extremely high population , even china is not doing any better , its rate is only double of that of india despite having such autocratic form of government

unfortunately not. The number is extremely high.
Also, if there are deferrals, they’d happen due to the rise in cases and potentially going online post DHM or on campus as well. Hence, even if WL is converted would you still go for it?

Plan your year as if it’s not getting converted . If it happens, then great.

Does different deadline for WL for different rounds mke any sense? Like R1 results will apparently be announced by 20th April and for others it’s 15may. How are they doing it waitlist usually move when the school has confirmation of all joining candidates.

Visa issues are likely to change post Biden plus many MBAs offer STEM degree.
Also you can actually pay back the loan early if you stay back and work in USA in USD. Cost of US MBA seems high to people like us earning in INR currently because of PPP.

still in negotiation phase with many , rice has given me good amount .it will be cheaper for me than isb , hoping georgetown and tepper increases my scholarship

i would have still put isb at top choice if online classes was not there

They mentioned on their website that 4 core courses from Term 1 will b covered in DHM. And there is an independent project as well. If that’s the case, doing DHM alongside anything else will b challenging

Could someone explain how the ISB waitlist process works? Like are the R1, R2 and R3 waitlisted candidates all scored and then decided on together? Or are the R2 waitlisted candidates scored separately and decided upon. I received the waitlisted email yesterday.

Maybe I missed this and this got covered in the previous chats.
