Hello Bazinga42,

Hope this finds you well.

You need to fill the initial parts of the application before you reach the section that has the essays questions.

For your reference, here are the essay questions.

Essay 1: Contemplate situations that have shaped your personal journey. Present what these situations have taught you about your strengths and weaknesses, and how they have shaped your personal and professional journey (400 words).

Essay 2: What intellectual experiences have influenced your approach to learning and have led you to pursue an MBA? Please describe using anecdotes from your own experiences. (400 words).

Essay 3 (Optional): Given your experience and aspirations, how do you plan to use the PGP at ISB to fulfil your professional goals? (Optional – 250 words).

Should you wish to discuss your admission prospects at ISB, please feel free to get in touch with us for a free profile evaluation session

Thanks.

Slightly surprising that you did not consider either the name of your instiute nor your branch, worthy of mention @Spectre26.

Again, no mention of the specific companies that you have worked for. Are you a mechanical engineer?

Hello Spectre26,

Thanks for writing in.

The NIT pedigree, client-handling experience, and a largely stable professional trajectory will help strengthen your profile; however, your overall chances of getting into ISB will be highly dependent on how high you score on the GMAT, how well you are able to craft a narrative that truly represents your strengths and achievements, how aptly you discuss your need for the PGP, and how logically you put forth goals that sync well with your existing background.

With regard to GMAT, you must aim for a score in excess of 685 to have a strong chance.

Further, to answer your query, ISB needs one recommendation.

Hope this helps.

All the best!

Hi,
  • Aim for a score of 665 or more.
  • You mentioned not having proof for the revenue numbers, make sure that you have the calculations worked out thoroughly if you want to quote them anywhere in the application.
  • Your post MBA goal seems well aligned, however go deeper into how it links for your aplication.
  •  Why don't you self publish?
All the best!

Hey! Your profile is pretty good with diverse experience in Startup, Sales, Program Management, and Strategy. For both ISB and INSEAD you should try to breach the 655 mark. The extracurriculars are quite dated and will not be that useful (since those are pre-graduation majorly). Similarly internships and projects that you did before starting a full-time job are dated as well. So you should focus on building good stories from your work experience and include leadership experience (if applicable, otherwise highlight experiences where you took initiatives and made significant impact).

You will have to be extremely clear whether you want to get into strategy roles or product management. I would suggest you to highlight strategy roles as getting a PM role can be quite challenging. Also, you will have to research a bit more about why MBA and why ISB (networking and upskilling will not help much).

We have 40+ mentors from ISB on our platform IvyCrackers and few of them are on ISB admissions interview panel. You can book a complimentary 30-mins call with us and one of the interview panelists will evaluate your profile in detail. In this call, we will delve deep into your profile, help you build an overall strategy for your ISB application, and answer any questions you have about ISB.
Thank for the evaluation.
Surely, will aim for a higher GMAT score.
Will also book your 30 min session sometime this week.
Sure, will look forward to speaking to you.
