Folks, are you getting paired with alums for interviews? I got an invite few days back and had to select a slot from a calendar, so I’m guessing that batch would be for current student or adcom interviews. Can anyone from R1 shed some light on it?

Not sure, but for R1 my friend got paired with an alum initially, but somehow got paired with someone he’d worked with at a previous company and knew. Apparently it was unintentional, because they brought it up with Ad-com and they had him do an Ad-com interview instead. He got in, so it didn’t hurt his chances at all. Still don’t know if it was a crazy coincidence or if they try to match you up based on industry or something if they can.
