Apologies if this is a basic question—this is my first time applying. If I don’t receive an early notice, does that typically mean rejection?

Also, I’ve been admitted to two of the top 10 programs in the US and need to make a deposit decision soon. Is it appropriate to reach out and ask for an early notice from Kellogg?

Thanks so much, and congrats to everyone who’s been accepted!!!

I think Kellogg does a portal update for all applicants and no calls/early notice. Assuming this was for Traditional 2Y MBA. Not sure about other programs

Congratulations icshub ! Candidates hear back on the official decision date.

Since you’ve got deposit deadlines coming up for other programs, it’s totally fair to reach out to Kellogg and let them know. While they may not be able to fast-track your decision, they might take your situation into account. Worst case, you’ll have done your due diligence, and best case, you get some clarity sooner.

Hope it all works out in your favor

Guys,Need help that, should we apply in round 3?

Does it reduce your chances & very less seats remain?

Is it advisable?

Usually it’s the most unpredictable and challenging round. Lots of people have already been admitted, lots of people on the waitlist but if you are an unusual or unique profile that’s who the schools are looking for in round three.

But if you are a regular guy, they already got plenty of us 😂

What if I already have an admit from R1/R2 and will start visa process, but want to just roll the dice in R3 for a more ambitious school? I am sure I will not apply next year, so no worry about being a reapplicant. If I get a better school after visa approval, can I change it later?

Hi. You can roll the dice. Sure!
You will have to restart the visa process if you get into another program and get a new visa basically. It is not too uncommon.
If I remember correctly, your visa will have your University name.

Yes, you can definitely change schools after getting the F1 visa. Source: A friend on the CBS waitlist last year received a call from admissions in June, asking if he wanted to switch over from the school he had chosen at the time. When he asked if he'll have to go through the enter visa process again, they said there was no need.

Really, what happened to transfer of schools?

I don’t know for other countries but in my country I hear of people who get visa’s for a particular school and after airport checks they go to their preferred schools and transfer their data

Hi NamanNaman, seems like you have already given a shot to some b-schools in R2. I don't recommend applying to R3 programs if you are gunning for the top 10-15. R3 is a very difficult round, moreover, your Gmat will put you at a disadvantage. If you are planning on applying to programs outside the top 20, then you may still have a chance- but again it depends on how strong your profile is.
