Hi. The R1 for MBA has passed, so you can apply for R2.
However, you must have taken your GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS before you submit your application.

The Admissions Managers are going to try and match us with an LBS alum (could also take up to 2 weeks). They will then connect us, and we can schedule a mutually convenient time, any time before Nov 3. Your cousin should be fine :)

Guys, any idea on the acceptance rate after interview? I heard some rumors (from current students and alumni) that LBS seldom reject a person after interview unless you really messed it up. But from the posts on this forum, I feel like LBS is giving out more interviews this year, so they might have changed the policy.

I have been researching some background about LBS Interviews (for my cousin who has some rough travel at the moment) and I assume everyone except me is aware of the structure but I was surprised on a few things. The multi-part interview with a case/presentation seems pretty unique to the LBS and from analyzing the LBS Interview Debriefs, these interviews are definitely much more exhaustive than the basic ad-com interviews other schools do/have. The 2nd Year or Alums seem to be really passionate about the program and appear to be genuinely interested in the applicants. This is great news overall as it does not appear anyone was trying to keep anyone out. That's a big credit to the AdCom for coaching the interviewers.

My Interview Notes/Takeaways:
  • Main subconscious question - Would I want this person to be a part of the LBS?
  • Limit yourself to 1.5 or 2 mins
  • Practice common Questions such as "biggest failure" or "biggest success" etc
  • Prepare some examples you can use
  • Why LBS? Make sure you are passionate about the program. You want to be liked.
  • E.g. What would other people say about you? They want to check your communication skills
  • Be prepared to have some random/unusual questions
  • Plan to practice to have 3-4 interview mock sessions if you want to get better/improve
  • As always, prepare questions for the interviewer that they would enjoy answering

There is a case/presentation as a part of the interview. There are several options potentially and as usual my guess is there is no right/wrong answer, and the answer actually does not count but what counts in these things is your framework, your decision, and your justification for your decision, so prep to have a case interview (this will be super handy later on too when you do recruiting interviews).
