Since a lot of people have been asking me for my Video Interview experience. I thought to brief everyone about my experience.
As a re-applicant, I submitted my application quite early and was asked to appear for a video interview. The interview was to be done on KIRA platform. Honestly, I do not remember the interview questions. But if you do so warm up exercise on the KIRA platform, you will get an idea of what to expect on the actual one.
I believe, this step is to give more insights of your communication skills to the adcom. There were 3 questions, if I am not wrong, and it was mostly behavioural questions. I remember doing practise for some 30 minutes and then I went ahead with the interview in the same flow. I had no notes for the interview and just allowed myself to be calm.

For the Skype interview:
I got a skype invitation after the video one. I chose Ashley for the discussion. It went on for around 40-45 minutes where we touched upon multiple things such as my current role, how was my experience with previous employers, how will merage help, other schools and how would i chose and so on. There was no surprise elements, but I must say She came up with interesting questions. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation. And now, waiting for the results.

I got my results on 24th Nov. Hope this helps.
I would encourage people to ask question on forums, rather than private messages. This helps others too to learn from posts.

Nikunj777 I was invited to kira talent video interview on March 7th and I completed it on March 13th. Was invited to skype interview on March 21st.
From what I saw during scheduling my skype interview they have a lot of slots. So, I guess they will slowly send out to others as well. No idea about the odds for getting selected at each stage. Very less information regarding them for this UC-Irvine.

Since there was a gap of 1 week between your video submission and skype interview invite, I guess i still have a chance.

I thought they send out skype interviews immediately..

if this is your first interview experience I would suggest you to schedule the interview as late as possible, so you get time to prepare. I finished my interview yesterday. I will put a detailed post regarding interview sometime later.
Also, once I scheduled I was mailed by a current student, Melanie henderson. She offered to help me out if i had any questions. Maybe finding her on linkedin and connecting would be a good idea.

I ws interviwed by Christian Hansen. The interview was just like any other Typical interview..
Go through esume, what do you do , ST and LT goals, Why MBA , Why Now, What companies are you looking for , Didi u talk to any current student etc etc.
No curve balls or I got you!! questions . Just make sure ypu have prepared for the interview .. I prepared for 2 hours ( browsing website , talking with a current student etc) and my interview went fine .. All the best

Hi

Is it mandatory to courier transcripts and degree for international applicants?

My university gave me transcripts in sealed envelope but said I will have to mail them myself, university will not send those directly to Merage.

Is there anybody with a similar concern?

I already had my interview on 21st.

Let this be known that it is NOT mandatory to send in your Transcripts and Attested degree Certificates before getting any decision. Irvine generally gives 20 days after your admit decision to send on your Transcripts and Certificate. I had this question and nobody could answer me hence this post is for posterity .

My interview was with Jon Kaplan. Mostly straight forward questions.
- Walk me through your resume
- Why MBA, why now? Short-term, long term goals.
- Why Merage?
Then was later asked about weakness I might have and how I have handled conflicts earlier.
That's about it.
It wasn't confrontational. Overall pleasant experience. Lets wait for the results.
