thanks! I have no idea. It is possible that they send super interviews out to people who have not yet visited campus but that they want to woo. I am not sure whether that theory is correct or not? Have all the interview invitees visited campus already?

I haven't visited campus. And maybe they don't wish to woo me :)

From ClearAdmit's interview with Soojin Kwon Koh, Dean of Ross....

Quote:
Applications are randomly assigned to and reviewed by Admissions Committee members to conduct a “first read” to determine whether or not to invite an applicant to interview. At the first read stage, an applicant can fall into one of three categories: (1) move to second read and invite to interview; (2) move to second read and consider for interview; (3) remove from further consideration.

If the applications are read randomly, it would also follow that interview invites are made randomly.

Anyways, I think it's interesting how they categorize each application after the first read.

Thanks everyone. Hopefully it is a positive thing focused around recruiting you to come to Ross.

The question now is do I bring my wife? For most interviews, you're only out of pocket for a few hours so we have plenty of time to explore the area. However, this event lasts from 9am-9pm which would leave almost no time together. I'd like her to visit with me, but I don't want her to have nothing to do all day. (Especially if the weather is bad.)

Call admissions and ask! I'm sure they can give you an idea if it's a partner friendly environment.

no invites today??

it seems all the invites rite now are for those with a gmat > 700....anyone below 700 with an invite?
ross has been my first love for the past 2 yrs and not hearing from ross so far has spoilt the remaining apps for me..just cant get myself to concentrate anymore :(

though kelly's words keep ringing in my ears "Its a random process. We'll be sending out invites till dec/jan as we keep reviewing.."

fingers crossed and ATB to those gearing up for their interview. Go Blue!

At the first read stage, an applicant can fall into one of three categories: (1) move to second read and invite to interview; (2) move to second read and consider for interview; (3) remove from further consideration.

So does this mean that it's possible that you can get rejected after having your app read by only one person?

It would appear so...

In all honestly, I am sure there are apps that fall under the category of "applicant was unrealistic in applying to Ross." I hope for the applicants sake that these are few and far between, but I am sure it does happen.

that is prob 5-10% of applicants I'd imagine. GMAT and/or GPA below 80% range and no other reedeemable factors in the app
