From BW profile on Ross: 39% of applicants are interviewed , 71% Yield, 20% acceptance rate

So roughly 50% acceptance rate after invitation offer

I am surprised at the yield at Ross. Very impressive.

Any idea if they send out acceptances prior to the drop-dead date? (similar to Kellogg)

They call people starting about 2-3 (business) days or so before the official announcement date.

bhp - Release date for results is 1/15, I believe. You think it's safe to say that the school isn't done sending out interview invitations? I was really happy with how my app turned out (and thanks again for your help/support!), and am starting to squirm just a little bit about not receiving an invite as of yet. Any word on the street?

PS How does Ann Arbor look in the fall? :-D

I had my interview on campus today. A few thoughts:

- I drove to Ann Arbor and got in around 7:00 PM last night. I met up with an MBA2 that I've been in contact with (he's a member of a club I'm interested in) at a bar called Score Keepers. Ross has some sort of tab at the bar for a couple of hours on Thursdays (no class on Fridays) and I had a few beers with mostly second year Rossers. Extremely friendly bunch, tons of them at the happy hour, really interesting and genuine set of people. A lot of fun.
- My interview was at 11 this morning and I got to the office around 10:30. For some reason my name wasn't on the interview list but it was sorted out. I interviewed with an MBA2 and we spent about 45 minutes chatting. Very laid back and conversational, more of a natural discussion than an interview. Resume walk through, why MBA, why Ross, some questions about leadership examples and team dynamics. Lots of time at the end to ask any questions that I had. My interviewer was a really nice guy, easy to talk to and he obviously loved being at Ross.
- The new building is very impressive from the outside. I couldn't go in, but I'd have to imagine that it's pretty amazing inside. My interviewer said his biggest complaint was lack of space - both classroom and breakout. He said that the new addition should take care of that completely.
- I really liked being at Ross. Smart, nice people in a very collegial environment. Seems like a great place to spend two years (and $125K).

zmfatla, Thanks for the recap. I think this is the first recap of Ross interviews this year. I have mine on Tuesday(11/18). I too am meeting a MBA2 on Monday night. After reading your post, I feel much relieved. I was expecting that since Ross conducts invite only interviews, they would put more emphasis on interviews and so intws can be more difficult to crack. But that does not seem to be the case. Also, now I am thinking, if Ross intws are conversational and like most others schools (read Tuck, Duke, etc), I wonder how do they picks 50% of them and not pick the others. All these thoughts distract me from preparing for Tue intw. :) So I will get back to work now !!! I hope you get in.

As I am watching the Michigan - Northwestern game (14-13 now), I am contemplating their business schools. A metaphor if you will...

I am beginning to get more enthused about Michigan. It seems Michigan alumni are pretty proud bunch. It seems Michigan doesn't get as much respect as Kellogg in the business world, but Michigan as a whole is a world class university; probably stronger than Northwestern.

Hmm...random thoughts...

Absolutely, glad I could help. My interviewer said that his goal was to find people that he would like be in class with - I focused on the most unique aspects of my background and talked sincerely about my interest in Ross. If you can articulate your goals and why Ross is the best place for you to accomplish them I'm sure you'll be fine. Best of luck, enjoy your time on campus.

Unfortunately none of the above. My schedule meant that I would be getting in later on Thursday and leaving shortly after my interview on Friday. The only formal event that they have on Fridays is a coffee chat at 9:30 (since there are no Friday classes) but I didn't attend it. Meeting the dozen or so folks at the happy hour gave me a lot of insight into the people at Ross and gave me a great opportunity to ask all of my questions. Sounds like you're doing something similar. I took a self-guided tour after my interview - beautiful campus, especially the law quad.

I have a 10 hr drive back home from Ann Arbor to Wappingers Falls, NY. So I was thinking of leaving not later than 2 pm. My intw is at 10:15, which I think would be done by 11:00. So I was thinking of requesting to the Admission receptionist to fit me in for lunch with students and then a tour if possible. Lets see if they can accommodate.

Michigan has what I call an assimilative culture. If you don't go in a Michigan fan, you'll more than likely leave bleeding Maize and Blue.
