Hi guys, new here!

I applied R1 Ross, but have heard nothing.

apart from their survey's, application tips and what not, I have not received an email saying that my application is complete.

That is a really long time! and incredibly enough I've stayed patient as not to bother the adcom

what do you guys think? should I ask them or would they feel annoyed? anyone else on the same boat as me?

cheers and good luck to all

I am in the same boat. Haven't heard anything at all. Moreover, I sent an update regarding my employment, but didn't get any response.

But, I am refraining from asking them anything. I am sure they are extremely busy and may not like being probed.

But, I could be wrong.

I think it would be completely appropriate to send them a quick email to ask if there was anything else that you needed to supply for your application to go complete. Its been a very long time since the R1 deadline. I've found that the admissions office is very helpful and quick to reply (though not everyone that I know has shared that experience).

I asked Soojin Koh (Director of Admissions) a while back when we could expect to hear of interview invites and she said all the way through early December (and that invites will be completely random so nothing should be read into when you receive them). For this reason, I'm not going to stress about Ross until Mid-December if I haven't heard anything...

Thanks everyone, the support is much appreciated!!! I received an email notice around 2:15 PST spelling out the details of what I need to do (and as an fyi-my status still says "submitted" in the online system, so that probably doesn't get updated, for those who are checking that). My window to interview is only through 12/3, though! Others given this narrow timeframe? I'll have to do some research on whether to go with an alum or make the trip to AA.

Have you made a visit to campus yet?

If not, then it may help your cause to do the tour, information session, class visit, and then interview in AA. At the very least it'll show them that you're serious about Ross, but chances are the visit would also give you a lot more fresh stuff to talk about during your interview (impressions about the campus, student base, classes, Ann Arbor, etc.).

If so, then just request an alumni interview in SoCal where it's nice and warm :rotate

I'm not really familiar with Ross or their admissions policies, so I'm not sure how qualified I am to be chiming in here. However, if I were to guess, they may question the seriousness of applicants from Southern California. People in SoCal tend to stay in SoCal, and they may be asking themselves "Why wouldn't this guy attend USC or UCLA? Why Michigan?" I am sure that you elaborated it well in your essays, but it would definitely help your case to visit.

Sorry, but I just had to say it. I understand that you have a tight window and that will make it tough to visit. If you want to look at the positives, I believe that Michigan does have an abnormally high yield among schools in the Elite tier. They may actually not care?

I would second that you should go on-campus and check out the campus. At the very least it will let you know what you are getting into. At the best it will show that you are serious about Ross. Its $200 for the application, what's another $500 for flight and hotel? Possibly more money for tuition...

I am from NorCal and I will be doing my interview on-campus. It took me about a week to decide, and UCLA is probably still a bit ahead on my "list" right now; but I think Michigan does have some very positive things going for it.
