I got a waitlist from NUS R1 just now. What does that mean? What are the chances of converting it? Even if converted, what are the chances of scholarship? Is it nil?
Can I ask if the waitlist was before interview or after interview?

After interviews

Hey! Would be good to know your post MBA goals as well and how it fits with what NUS has to offer. From whatever you have already detailed, the graduation & GMAT scores are decent. A lot of Indian applicants with ~4-5 yrs of exp in core finance usually apply to NUS because of Singapore’s finance ecosystem. So you’ll need to find a way to truly differentiate yourself in the application in order to improve your chances. Data science driven consulting options could be a good pivot in your case. Feel free to reach out to us at Preppie (https://www.preppie.in) for a more detailed discussion or application support

Hey @sourabhsingh , there are many chances of it being converted. The deal is that "you have to show how you are still committed to get an admit and adding value to their community."

Here are some steps that you may follow post a waitlist:
1. Find the officer in-charge of the WL and connect with them.
2. Write a supporting email to the WL officer in-charge. Include these points:
- How and why you were not able to present your 100% during the application?
- Express that you are still very interested in the program, and how it will be a perfect platform to help you achieve your ST and LT Goals.
- Mention how you have improved over the period, add few work promotions or new awards or achievements.
- Connect with any current students (or alumni) of the program, mention their names and the best things they said about the program.

3. Try to get an endorsement from Alumni, current students or someone affiliated with the B-school.
4. Try to do a video presentation and share it with the officer.
5. Try to provide an improved GMAT or EA score.
6. Try to be in touch with the b-school in all possible ways (LinkedIn, email, online events).

Regarding the scholarship part, it is not directly linked to WL Queue, but yes, the chances of scholarship (and the amount) will keep getting slim as the time proceeds. For more info. on this part, please shoot an email to the school adcom. All the best !

What was your actual role in the edtech industry, which firms did you work at? It would be helpful to know your post MBA aspirations as well and how does NUS fit into that plan. Additionally, if there are aspects beyond work that add value to your profile, it would be worthwhile to know that. Your scores are on the lower side so you’ll need a well articulated and strong application to be able to improve your chances.

The offer email says that my undergraduate degree and transcripts need to be sent by the undergraduate institution directly to NUS. Can't I directly email these documents? Any idea?

Congratulations!! I had my interview a week back. It was quite conversational. It was 2 member panel, one ad com and one alumni. They started with the usual core questions 1) Tell me about yourself, why mba, why nus, goals. Later they continued with 2) how will you contribute to NUS during MBA and later as an alumni. 3) TMAT you faced a professional challenge challenge. 4) You will have to collaborate with a lot of Asians at NUS, so how has your work experience prepared you for this. If you had a chance to have a coffee chat with a global leader, whom would you choose and why. My 2 cents, be yourself, be well prepared for the core questions.

Congratulations on the invite. My interview was around 25 minutes. It was pretty conversational. Below are the questions I was asked-
1. Post MBA goals
2. Backup plan
3. What locations you are considering post your MBA.
4. Since I mentioned about working in the energy sector, there were questions around what research I had done around the work in this sector in Singapore and NUS.
5. What am I doing to prepare myself for my goals.
6. Why did I leave my previous job.
7. Challenges in leadership.
8. Any other schools you applied to
9. Any questions for us.
