No I'm from U.S. I'm very surprised how many people were waitlisted. And sorry for those who were dinged, but I don't think waitlist is much better at this point.

Just out of curiosity, anyone know if you are accepted off the waitlist if you could still get a scholarship because if not then I might as well pull out of Rice since I would take the scholarship at Simon.

I really don't understand why the school places SO many people on the waitlist. Especially international applicants who need to secure visas etc. The odds of conversion look slim judging by the sheer number of WL's.

Hopefully you get the Owen admit and have a choice. Good luck to you and everyone else who was waitlisted. I officially declined my offer from Rice so I hope that opens a seat for somebody.

Its ridiculous. I was waitlisted at Rice in round 1. It scared the crap out of me because I considered it a safe school and would get in easily. Also, don't believe the story about the WL being a small group of people.

BTW, I am not an international student neither.

I will probably be dropping out by then even with an invite.

Rice was a late app for me... just like a few had said above as a "safe school"
